Platini on cost to fans for a Euro 2020 staged in 13 countries. 'There are low-cost airlines these days.' Sums him up .

Sam Wallace ‏@SamWallaceIndy

Euro 2020, potentially 51 games in 13 countries. I just asked Platini if he's making this up as he goes along. Got a bit huffy. Said 'Non'

I think he means that traveling to and from major cities is easier.

Surely all host nations wouldn't be put through for qualification. I suspect this is a way around it.

Seems mind-bogglingly hard on supporters. Can't even begin to imagine the scope of travelling, preparation, and costs inflicted on supporters following their teams around Europe. Ridiculously ill-conceived idea.

Stupid idea. Just think how much its going to cost the fans (Not that they care) to follow the team around from one country to another.

UEFA care. No really, they give a shit.

Their excuse will be that more fans will get to see their own team play a game because they'll probably play in their own country.

Gang of fucking c*nts going around staying in fancy hotels, trampling on the back of fans the few times they have to use their feet between executive boxes at the stadiums, five star hotels, limousines and private jets.

champion league format for national football, not a bad idea as it will be hard for the airlines and hotels to put the price in 13 countries high.  It will reduce and share the financial pressure on the countries that are organising the competition

In my opinion, it won't it will actually make it easier to rip off fans.

Who is going to make fan's camps for just one match, it wouldn't be cost effective.
Are UEFA going to subsidize cheap accommodation for fans, hardly.

The hotels would have no competition and a free run to charge whatever they want and they will.
Bars and restaurants would go mental, as they would not have to worry about repeat business.

Airline prices would sky rocket all over Europe, having a collateral and detrimental effect on businesses.

Then there's the logistics for the fans.
UEFA set no regard for the comfort and convenience of fans.
Look how they treated the Germans, making them travel from one side of Ukraine to the other - a 15 hour train trip apparently.

Sadly money is Platini's motivation.
With so many countries involved the advertising revenues would be enormous.
It's a license to print money.

It can't possibly be a real idea. It's just so fucking stupid that if it wasn't UEFA we were talking about I'd assume it was a wind up.

Imagine watching the last group game in a Sunday night not knowing whether your Quarter Final on Wednesday will be in Portugal or Poland?

The short notice air fares alone are going to cripple fans.

In the champions league you have a decent berth between fixtures and rounds. Unless they're also going to extend the euros to the entire summer, cramming that much travel and last second scheduling into three, maybe four weeks is a nightmare.

He did say about the next Euros that when Turkey have a president of UEFA they can have the Euros as France are hosting the next one and it will be 24 teams which is almost half of Europe.

It wouldn't surprise me if he awarded the Euros to Andorra one day.

Surely it would mess up schedules and all this to. Just give it to one of the bigger European nations. I still think having 24 teams is stupid to especially when 16 of the 24 teams go through so you have more chance of going through than out. Should of kept it at 16.

You could say they have the Champions League Group format for the qualifying stages. Stupid Idea. Platini will be in charge of FIFA by then and will probably decide on a World Cup over 5 continents, with Final in Antartica.
