Collection details :

Liverpool Football Club will be implementing a ticket collection process for the Reds’ UEFA Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena on Wednesday March 13, 2019.

The process is part of club’s ongoing commitment to improve the way match tickets are sold and allocated.

Around 250 of the 3,800 ticket allocation will be selected at random and those supporters will be required to collect their tickets from either a designated location in Munich city centre or a location close to the Allianz Arena on the day of the game.

It is strongly recommended to use the collection point in the city centre to avoid any additional congestion around the stadium. An email and text message will be sent on February 15 to those supporters who are selected to collect their tickets. Full collection details will be sent on March 7. The club will also be taking designated LFC staff from Liverpool to the location to make the process as smooth and quick as possible for supporters.

Please be advised that each individual supporter must collect their own ticket: the supporter collecting their ticket must be the supporter whose details were provided on the online capture form as attending the game, when making the booking. On collection, the following identification will be required:         

A copy of the email sent detailing the collection process which will show your collection reference number (this can be shown on your mobile phone).
AND either of the following:

Valid photocard driver's licence.
Valid passport/National Identity Card or CitizenCard, plus proof of address, eg a utility bill within the last six months.
Please also note that if tickets are not collected, the ticket purchase will be cancelled from the supporter’s record with no refund given.

Yes, it was Porto last year. Since then they have added phone number and email for every user, on the details page. Before that they said they would just contact the lead booker who would have to inform everyone. Now they have every persons email/tel they can contact them one by one.

Seems strange to not do the whole booking. the touts are less likely to be getting one as part of a non-tout's booking surely?

Even though only 250 are collecting, it should stamp out tout sites for euro aways at least. If someone put random details and gets selected for collection they can't flog it on one of those sites.

I suspect as well if anyone is called for collection and doesn't collect it will flag up, and a second instance would lead to an investigation.

I know a lot are against total collection but the Mancs have done it for years, EVERYONE collects. Barca now do it as well, they even did it for copa del rey final. I remember collecting Chelsea away at a hotel by Marble Arch last February. It makes it almost impossible to tout.

I get the arguments about not wanting to spend hours in a queue or whatever. But for anything to change for the better some collections will be necessary. I think picking 200-300 is a good starting point

Yeah, I know that. But everyone on the booking was selected. I.e. it was the booking pulled out of the metephorical hat rather than individuals.

FAQS say:

“If I made the booking and I am selected to collect, will the other supporters within the booking attending the game also have to collect?

Yes, each individual ticket within the same booking must be collected by the supporter whose details have been entered when completing the online form.”

I didn't read/see what they said about the 'random' nature of it. I would imagine it is and all done in good faith.

But you can also see the eyes widening at the opportunity to take a look at some that buy in large groups with full credits - because you can easily predict that a group of 6 for example would struggle to make every game together. Good chance to look at a few big groups I'd imagine. The bigger the numbers the less likely everyone attends on their own cards. Anyway. I doubt they're doing that. I do think it will be random and no agenda.
