Same on both accounts. RIP.

Amy messed up hugely with that dish. Didn't realize she had different colour eyes. She was clearly capable of better. Those chips looked so good though by the other contestant!

That David's been pretty consistent so far and they seem to love Sandy.

Quite a good bunch they've got.

Think the older lady who's name I've forgot is a strong contender.

Quite like Claire and Sandy bar this round has done well.

David, Thomas or Sandy I reckon. Thought David was a shoo-in but he stumbled badly in that last round and only stayed in because of some poor attempts by others. Thomas has been improving massively, and Sandy's been consistently strong. I'd have Claire and Christian pegged as the next ones to go. Beverley and Jasmeet are great but not sure I can see either winning it.

You could do a MasterChef drinking game and have to take a drink every time someone makes ravioli, duck or fondant potatoes. Definitely be drunk by the end of an episode.

Hard to argue with this. Had similar thoughts about David but Thomas seems to be smashing it now.

Jasmeet and Beverly do seem to be doing well but agree that I can't see them having quite enough.

Claire next to go for me. Christian doesn't really do much wrong but never seems to be near the top either.

Add chocolate fondants into the drinking bingo.

It was the evening of celeriac. I tried making a celeriac soup once can't say it was a great success. It was a good night for David, Sandy's performance in Tom Kitchin's task was really good too. That challenge was really interesting, seeing so many of them out of their comfort zone. A really good semi-final all in all.

Schedule for this is weird. Assumed the next episode was Friday but it's actually tonight. Then the three next week are Wed, Thurs and Fri.

Anyway, think David is the clear favourite - probably has been since they all came together. Really liked that Tom Kitchin was actually teaching them things as he went round, rather than just pointing out things they'd done wrong - like helping David realise he should cook a tiny bit of the rabbit so he'd know if it was seasoned properly.

Couldn't believe it when Thomas said he'd never made fresh pasta before, surely a given to practice that before going on MasterChef?!

Think it is because it is bank holiday weekend not that it makes any difference to anyone now.

I think the order will be David, Thomas, Sandy, Beverly and then Clare.

But I think Sandy is one of those who could pull off something incredible or crash and burn.

Beverly could be a dark horse.

I can't find the recipe for it now, but last year I did a celeriac and smoked haddock bake where the fish and veg were layered like a lasagne with a herby, cheesy white sauce. Went down a treat, celeriac is properly under-used in real life.

Celeriac is also a great micro herb to grow.

Hard to argue with that lineup, though there is always room for a big shock/fuck up. I think any of the top three you've quoted could be liable to do that and let Beverly in.

Tom Kitchin was brilliant. I like that it was similar to when they go into their kitchen & service, but with that added guidance and teaching from Tom & without the safety net of help from other chefs to make sure the customer isn't served shite.

The 2 girls have been skating on thin ice for the last couple of shows.

Thomas is on a another level I think

Aside from Sandy, they all did really well in that final challenge last night. Food in Mauritius looks amazing, sure those fishermen have a tough life but not a bad lunch to have every day...

Was going to say Claire has moved ahead of Sandy based on last night. Was abit weird the response from David after cooking one time, I thought he was going to pass out.

Still leaning towards David, slightly. Think he's likelier to come up with something that looks absolutely incredible - Thomas' food is perhaps a little less showy. Really hard to call though, shouldn't count Sandy out either.

Right decision about the final three.

I think David peaked early and hasn't progressed at the same rate as the others. Was a bit lucky last night - I think the decision was largely based on overall performance.

Thomas's food is great - porter fondant and brandy caramel sauce, I was drooling.....

Think he is favourite, but Sandy is a dark horse. She could come up with something extraordinary still.
