Sean opened his eyes the day before yesterday for the first time. He's still on a ventilator but doing some breathing by himself. They hope to transfer him to Beaumont ( Dublin)at some stage.
A lad on another site was told this yesterday  by a friend who knows him through Dunboyne GAA.

Oh my goodness, thank heavens.   This just made my day.

Thank you so much for posting this, it's made my day.

I check this thread often and always hope for some positive news. At long last there is some. Hopefully Sean goes on to make a full recovery.

This is amazing news. Hope he gets to see the match. Said it weeks ago I felt it in my gut that he'd wake in time and our captain will walk into his hospital room with old big ears and a massive smile in the next few days.

Hope the Reds win tonight so that when Sean opens his eyes again, one of the first things he'll see is that his team have won Big Ears for him. Keep strong Sean and family.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Win tonight and it would be so cool to see the picture of the team with the trophy and that Sean Cox flag on the front and back papers tomorrow.
