Yeah, that was the celebration. It almost felt like a cue from him, like a "It's fucking happening, we're winning the Premier League, you better start believing it now because I do". Think that was the game where a lot of fans really started thinking it was possible.

Christ, the highs of that season were immense. They made the lows just that much worse.

Dead weird seeing him in that LA Galaxy gear. Still hasn't sunk in that he's gone. I know he said he probably wouldn't come back to us on loan in the off season but I really hope he does.

Couldn't agree more, Californian weather is awesome, lived here in San Diego for 3 years now and I love it.

Imagine being a moderately talented singer, rejected on your own but Louis Walsh fancied you, so you got chucked in a band who went inexplicably popular and now you get to live in LA, doing fuck all apart from hanging out with properly talented sportsmen like Gerrard and McIllroy. What a lucky c*nt (apart from the Louis Walsh bit)!

Really liked that interview he's done today for the BBC, talking about being able to take his girls to the fair at Santa Monica pier and not being hassled. Just getting on with life, being a dad, regular stuff. It must be so nice for him on a personal level. Looking forward to seeing him play now, I think I've finally managed to make peace with the fact he won't be wearing red.

Pulled no punches either regarding 'you-know-who'. But anyway, let's not derail the thread. It'll be interesting being able to hear his opinion on the club though moving forward, from the outside looking in and all that.

Doesn't feel quite right to see "Steven Gerrard" under a "Former players" category :(

Don't believe it, myself. Just not true. Not having it.

Nope. All a myth.

God I love him. Just seen his comments about Hendo taking the armband from.......he's always there for him, thinks he's a great humble lad, a top professional etc etc.

He truly is a legend and one that still has our club in his heart.

The manager says he'll get 45 minutes tomorrow night in a friendly against Club America from Mexico.   It's bittersweet purchasing tickets to see him here, but my son and I will be there to support him.

LA will be great for him.  The only time he'll get recognised in the street will be by football fans rather than being pap-fodder over here.  If I was a footballer of any kind of repute, damned right I'd take the MLS payday at the end of my career.

Also just for future reference, unlike in Europe, matches in America never actually start at the time they are supposed to. They say a match will start at 830pm PST (like tonight's match) but the match will actually start at like 845pm, or whatever. They just say it starts earlier so that you watch the pre-game show and commercials.

Least LA Galaxy can do is make their fucking jersey red. I can't deal with this and am pretending he's in our third kit from a decade back.

The MLS Commissioner picked him (and Lampard) for the MLS All Star team.

Yes, it's getting a ton of criticism (mostly because Giovinco, who has been insanely good, wasn't picked).

But uh... it's another honor for him, so that's cool?

How the hell didn't Giovinco make the team? He's been outrageously good for Toronto.

First 11 was a fan vote... so blame the Toronto supporters for not voting, I guess?

But absolutely ridiculous that Garber went for TV ratings (Gerrard+Lampard) over who was actually better (Giovinco). Apparently the coach gets a few picks too, so he'll find his way in.
