So Lallana and Gomez will be back for the final, we'll need them as our bench is poor currently.

Do we thnik Emre Can will miraculously declare himself fit too?  ;D

We need Lallana for sure but we can cope without Gomez now Clyne is back.

The bench isn't poor at all.

I don't think we'd be relying on Gomez if Clyne is fit. As for Can, if he gets fit, I'd only play him if he signs a contract.

Hopefully Can is fit so he can carry Hendo, Milner & Gini's bags for them

No way Can will start, but would be a great option on the bench.

To be honest, even if he is fit - i'd not include him unless he commits his future to the club, and that's not said in an arsey way - more to do with the final being a massive game and if his head is elsewhere, how can he be invested 100%.... of course he'd want to win and get a medal, but is he going to sprint that extra 5 / 10 yards for this team if in his head he's already committed to a new club.

Bit like when you accept a new job and you're working your notice, do you give it your all through that period? Or just go through the motions counting down the days...

If Can has not signed a deal then he can sit in the stands and watch fit or not. If you don't want to be a part of it then do one.

Liverpool substitutes: Mignolet, Clyne, Klavan, Moreno, Ings, Solanke, Woodburn

From last night....
I can realistically see Lallanna/Gomez in there

Keeping our front 3 fit and firing is so massively important it cannot be understated

Judging by the way Klopp handles players who are not committed, Can will be nowhere near the teamsheet. Lallana back would be a boost! Hopefully he gets some minutes under his belt.

the can rumours are doing the rounds all season but he is only not playing recently as he is injured. he even captained us in some games.

however if he is declared fit for the final and henderson, milner and Gini are fit then he should only be on the bench at best.

Can't get my head around what Emre Can seems to be thinking at the moment. Why the hell would you not want to continue playing in this team and under this manager? Does he really put demanding a release clause in a new contract(allegedly), above the chance to play for this young exciting team who are one game away from greatness and look to have a very bright future indeed?

It would be mad if Can was fit and we didn't put him on the bench.
What if someone gets injured? Jurgen would have loved to put in a midfielder to close the game last night.
Besides Can has showed himself to be professional throughout the situation and what player wouldn't give their 100% in a CL Final? If anything more teams would notice him if he puts in a good performance in a CL Final. As a free agent nothing can be better.

If Can is available even off the bench for the Final in Kiev then we should use him. Anything that helps the cause.

He can use blood sweat and tears to help us beat Madrid, then head off is he's not staying. The midfield squad is so thin from injury, all hands on deck etc

Exactly this.  Anyone saying we shouldn’t use him in the final if he’s fit are off their rocker.  Our first priority should be winning the competition, not punishing a player for making a business decision to earn his money elsewhere.

If our injured players recover, I’d be hoping for a bench of Mignolet, Clyne, Klavan/Gomez, Moreno, Can,
Lallana, Ings/Solanke. That’s about as strong as we can hope to manage.

He's been back in Frankfurt the last couple of weeks going by social media pics from his friends and fans he's met. He was in a box at the City home game but since then I can't remember him being pictured.

I just don't see what benefit that would be to him? He's missing some of the biggest games he could play in and he doesn't need to go on strike to leave, he knows he can go wherever he wants at the end of the season. I wish a journalist would ask outright about him though.

Liverpool are waiting on further assessments on Emre Can and Joe Gomez to determine whether they will be able to play a part in the remaining three fixtures of the season.

Can has been out of action since picking up a back issue against Watford on March 17, while Gomez sustained a knock in the early stages of last weekend’s goalless Anfield draw with Stoke City.

Offering an update on the duo, Jürgen Klopp told his pre-Chelsea press conference: “We are in contact with Emre. An important day is next Monday and then we can make the decision if he starts training with us or not immediately.

“It would only be good news for the final, probably not for the last game of the season.

“Joe is still waiting for final assessment and stuff like that so we can really figure out what it is exactly. We will know about it in a few days probably, but he is not available for Chelsea.”

Elsewhere, as reported on Liverpoolfc.com on Friday, morning, the Reds have no fresh injury concerns following Wednesday’s Champion League semi-final success in Rome.

Meanwhile, Adam Lallana stepped up his recovery from a hamstring injury by coming through a session on Thursday morning in Italy without any issues.

Klopp added: “As far as I know nothing else happened, so that would be really cool. They are all still fit.

“Adam trained his first real football session in Rome in the morning after the game. How Adam [always] is, he looked good, so that’s OK. I have no idea if we will use that or not, but I have to think about it. I don’t know, but it’s good."
