That little knowing nod he gives after making that save... That was the moment he knew, and we all knew, that it was ours. The penalties were never in doubt.

Thanks, Jerzy.

That's so true. It was mainly down to being hammered but after that save I was certain we were going to win.

The haunted look in Sheva's eyes cracks me up, it's like he can't comprehend what's just happened.

Remember him being blasted for THAT Forlan game against the Mancs at Anfield, but then putting in a Man of the match performance against them in the League Cup final a couple of months later to win the trophy. Oh, and that night in Turkey!

Thank you Jerzy!

he was patchy for us was a great shot stopper but always had my heart in my mouth when a cross came in :) , but he left on such a high note  that he'll always be remembered for that  ..  and rightly so .. at retiurement parties  it's always better to remember the good times so thanks Jerzy for keeping us in the champions league final of 2005 long enough for us to catch up at the other end .. and for that amazing double save ...and for playing your part in the most exciting football match I've ever watched, not just as a liverpool supporter but from watching any football match at all .. you're probably a legend for that with the neutral supporter too

After Istanbul, don't think I could ever utter a negative word about the guy. Must make retirement easier knowing he has that medal and was so central to what panned out that night. Great memories.

That double save was just magical. I celebrated that just as much as I celebrated our third, as soon as he - somehow - denied Shevchenko from that range I just knew we'd be getting our 5th that night.

Truly a magical night, and Jerzy played a huge part in that magic.

Enjoy your retirement Jerzy, YNWA!

RM gave him quite a sendoff!  http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277/la-liga/2011/05/22/2497857/jerzy-dudek-moved-by-guard-of-honour-send-off-in-real

In another article, Jerzy was quoted ""When my teammates and friends formed the corridor... I don't have words to describe it" http://www.madeupnonsense.com/articles/real-madrid-keeper-dudek-announces-retirement-1647401

Not bad considering he only played in 2 league matches for them, 11 matches in all.

Thanks for the memories, Jerzy!  YNWA
Just shows what a top bloke he is and how highly regarded he was by his team mates. Would be good if the club brought him and Sami back for the first home game next season so are fans can show are appreciation for theRm.
Remember being on my knees every time Milan took there pen, praying to Pope John Paul II to save it for Jerzy. Not that I'm religous just the fact he had just died and was a Pole like Jerzy. There was definitely divine intervention for that save.

People will always talk about THAT save, and his saves in the shootout but for me his most important moment in that game came from a Shevchenko free early on in the 2nd half, he only saw it at the last minute but got it around the post and a couple of forays up the pitch later, JAR got a cross into the area and the rest as they say is history.

Thanks for everything Jerzy
I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

I've watched that save a million times and to this day I still don't know how it went over the bar.
You can take your Banks v Pele any day of the week, for me, THAT was the greatest save of all time.
Take care Jerzy, I shall 'do the dudek' at some point today in your honour.

Honestly I laugh everytime I watch THAT save and replays of the penalties against milan. The only whole match really but especially those moments. It's so surreal when I think about it, not to mention "the greatest day of my entire fucking life" as the guy in the pub said to me, at halftime no less. Again, all the best for Jerzy.
