Very surprised he's gone to Istanbul with an English wife and a young family.

Nothing against Istanbul of course but the huge change in culture gives me concern for them.

Wages quoted at $3m per year.....wonder what the pay cut was to stay with us ?

Wrong. Quoted at £3m a year which is twice as much. He was making £60,000 a week.

He could have gone to Roma who finished second last season in one of the best leagues in the world but obviously went to Turkey because they were paying more. Like he needs the extra money after making £15m off us over the last 5 years.

Is this true? Madness.

Galatasaray must have offered him some serious money. Idiots. They will soon learn.

Either way, at least we're finally rid.

Seriously, what's your problem?

Pongolle
2003–2006
ST/WM
65 appearance, 9 goals

Kewell
2003-2008
LWM
136 appearances, 16 goals

Sure neither are very impressive, but why the hate-fest for one former LFC player and not for another? What's the problem with so many of our fans that we can't just wish a bloke ravaged by injuries during his LFC career luck and get on with it. And if you hate Kewell, why are you even in this thread?

But FSP was signed as a very young prospect whereas Kewell was signed as a big name Number 7, expectations were very different. The reality was about the same.

I'm so fucking angry I'm rubbing my face!!!

i think its to do with the two leeds fans who were killed when they played galatasaray around 10 years ago

good luck to him tho

And believe me, they'll not forget that, my dad was actually celebrating when Poyet and Wise left cos it "got the "chelsea" out of Leeds" cos they still hold a grudge for the 1970 cup defeat

What the hell's Sheree gonna do now is a bigger question for me? ;D

Harry Kewell's agent has denied the former Liverpool player has signed a deal with Galatasaray - despite claims to the contrary from the Turkish club.
Galatasaray's official website is claiming the Australian international - who left Liverpool at the end of last month after failing to agree a new Anfield deal - has signed a three year contract with the Istanbul-based side.

But agent Bernie Mandic claims this is not the case and that no decision will be made on his future until tomorrow.

"We have not finalised a deal for Harry and it's down to two possibilities," he said.

"People will be notified if and when Harry decides on one of the options which may be around noon on Saturday European time.

"We will not make any other comments until then."

lol

It's madness if he goes there surely.

My wife would go fucking bonkers if i said we were relocating to Istanbul.

Ok the money would be lovely but fuck me, its a world away from the culture that they are used to, especially with a young family which he has.

Mind you at least he is off the wage book.

I always wish our players well when they leave, unless given ammo to do otherwise. Diouf for instance.

With Kewell, I sympathise with him because of all the injuries, but I do not think that he gave his all for the club. I think his attitude at times was suspect.

So for me, I won't be looking out for his results or performances, nor will I be clapping and singing his name if he returns to Anfield, but I won't be in the good riddance booing section either.

Well bugger me, didn't see this coming. I expected the likes of Pompey or likelier the MLS. Gala jumping the gun clearly, which is a bad move by them, especially as given Bernie's statement he is still holding out on another offer. I wonder if that will be the MLS or Roma one. If it was Pompey, he'd have already signed I'm sure. Then there's exactly what offer from Rafa he turned down? 'Tis a strange one this.

he should go the the MLS. move his wife and kids to NY or California, rake in mega bucks and live a lovely life with no language barrier. it's not like he has much to offer in a proper league anyway.

would be mad not to.

Strange one indeed. I wouldn't believe except for the picture on the Gala... website. I was expecting a 'this is a rumour', doesn't sound right at all, but who knows? Maybe Bernie calle in a favour to get soeone to get a move on? I hope he goes to Italy, if he has the option.

Lolzies. More chance of a wank off the pope than beating United, I'm afraid. It is beyond Benitez, apart from when they were at their lowest ebb, when we knocked them out of the FA Cup. They certainly aren't anywhere near there now.
