Saxobank are gonna struggle to finish with 5 if they keep hammering it.

Sanchez will have to be super agressive in the mountains to get anywhere near the podium.

Thor in the Polka Dot.  :lmao Love it! Anyway, Garmin should be Top 3.

Leakygas not really going that quick, hopefully my man Ivan doesn't lose that much.

Not a massive Wiggins fan but he has a really fluid TT style. Obviously comes from his track training but he's really efficient.
Still hoping for a Sky win, but Garmin were very quick.

Garmin lookin' good, Thor for the yellow? RadioSmack should do well, but I expect them to end around Sky. HTC train incomming.

Bernie Eisel stacks it on the first bend, lucky he didn't take the 2 lads behind him out and he won't catch the rest now. Needs to dig in to make the +30% of his team time, losing him is a nightmare for HTC.

I'd love Cancellara to be too quick for his team mates here and Schleck's legs blow. If he could TT he'd be closer to Bertie but he can't, and for that reason he'll never be top class.

Smacks going slower than I expected, strong finish by them though.

Good damage limitation by HTC. Leopards going slighty faster than Saxo so far, Andrew won't gain too much on the steak man.

Gilbert was boss yesterday 8)
And still can win two stages in the comming weak, he's a beast.

Apparently the wind stopped for the last few teams, so good luck for them. Good for Evans anyway, he put time into his rivals and his team doesn't have to defend the jersey.

Do Garmin defend the yellow? Thor can keep if for a week if they do.

Totally forgot about Millar. They keep the order from the first stage, don't they? Pointy points for the yellow, 'cause he won't lose it tomorrow. Time to get Cav and probably Petacchi in my team.

Anyway, it was the first time I've seen the teams GC contenders hanging on for their dear life in a TTT. Was pretty funny. Andrew must be thanking his lucky stars, because he's done nothing and is already 2mins up on Contador. He wouldn't finish in the top ten during the 90's when they had 2/3 50+km long TTs.

I fell asleep and missed the stage or at least the last 3/4 but it sounds like it was non eventful but it was a very short stage and all, so big times were never going to happen between the GC contenders.

Not a great day for Contador. Most of the other GC riders took even more time out of him! Wasn't a huge gap but given how close the last few years have been, it could prove crucial.

Evans, Schleck and Wiggins sitting pretty. Ahead of the other GC riders and a couple seconds off the lead so no need to worry about controlling the race and burning the teammates out.

Do Garmin defend the yellow? Thor can keep if for a week if they do.
I'm sure they'll try as they don't really have a GC guy but Tuesday will be tough for them. Ends on top of a Cat 3 climb. Thor can climb well for a sprinter but he'll do well to stick with the attacks that will surely come. Since there's still half a week of flat to recover, may see one or two of the GC guys make a move to try make up 10 or 20 seconds? Also there'll be a host of opportunists going for a one off stage win or King of the Mountains points.

Couple Schleck haters in here? How come? Critical of their TT ability? Fans of the steak man? Have something against Luxembourg? ;D

I support the Schlecks btw. :-X ;)

Who's everyone's pick for the white jersey?

Mine's Gesink. Only 8 seconds off  Thomas. Kreuziger's already 2'17 down on Thomas but should be his biggest competition right?

This is Garmin-The-Yearly-GC-Surprise we're talking about here:

2008: 4th - VDV
2009: 4th - Wiggins, 8th - VDV
2010: 7th - Hesjedal

I'm sure one of Danielson, VDV or Hesjedal will decide that he will finish in the top 10.

Gesink won't have any competition as long he doesn't fall. Doubt he'll win by 45 minutes like Menchov did in 2003, but if he doesn't fall he'll win. If I have to name some I would say Coppel, Kreuziger, Rui Costa, Intxausti, Mollema or Taaramae.

Quite a decent week for Rabobank. Won time on concurents for the podium (VDB2, Basso and Sanchez). Only lost a few seconds against Evans and probably will lose some more in the next week but in normal conditions Gesink should be able to win some time in the mountains over him.

Wiggens, Radioshack guys and T.Martin, other guys who won some time over Gesink aren't really contenders for the podium, so that's all acceptable.

@babasham I proper despise both Schlecks, pair of pricks with ideas well above their ability. If it wasn't for Canc today they'd have been nowhere, he rode that like an ITT to drag them two shithouses to the end. I'm not a fan of dopers obviously but even with his cheating Contador is infinitely more likeable than either Schleck.

Right with you on that, again not really sure why but was well pissed when he got yellow ahead of G and even Evans.

Tomorrow will give first indication of which sprinters are on top form, really hope Cav's ready from the off bearing in mind not too many other chances.

I'm a Nibali guy, but I don't mind the steak man. The Schecklets are meh. At least Frankie boy raced at the Vuelta last year. that redeemed him a little bit. Never liked guys that race just for 3 weeks.

Fantasy game:
Petacchi and Cav in. I'm keeping Samu Sanchez for tuesday, I hope he's pissed off and tries to win some time back and challenges Gilbo for the win. ;)

Kreuziger will be second, easily. Less than 7mins down on Gesink.

Nibbler is ace. Don't think he can be a dominant force, because he's just not the best climber out there, but he's got a big heart and descends like a mad man. :D

Sanchez is a good descender too and a good TTist, if there are some technical descents near the end of stages, he could recover some time. He was the 3rd best climber last year, so I'm still hoping for a top 5 from him.
