You're totally right here Ron.
Rafa had his faults and stubborness was one of his biggest.
However he believed in our club, he had dignity and pride.
He fucking exposed Hicks and Gillette for what they are, total and utter fucking shitbags.
Other people at the club decided to follow the 'Pipers' because they had no balls to stand up to the 'mighty americans'.
The media, the fucking owners will never kill our spirit. We are Liverpool FC, down but not out.
Together, as one, we must carry this fight and not allow the bastards in charge to divide us.
At the moment I can't see a solution to the problem but the blind faith I had at half time in Instanbul still exists. Just remember to 'Keep the Faith'.
Indeed.
I also really liked Houllier, I think he had a heart for the club too, but towards the end of his leadership the football got so bad and negative that it felt like his time was up.
And although Benitez has also made mistakes, some small and some bigger, I never had the feeling we were gonna desert him.
He was a real unique character in the game, his charm in a way went further then just being a football coach.
He seemed to relate to the people of Liverpool in a way that's not often seen in football anymore.
He had something "Shankly" about him.
I can't believe he was put out with the trash.
We had a really bad season, but part of that was beyond anyone's control, we were plagued with injury.
But Benitez didn't deserve to be cast aside like this.
I think this nasty afair puts a bit of shame on Liverpool football club.

Thanks Koplass.

Cried uncontrollably in parts.

You never know what you have got 'til its gone. I hope its not too late for us fans to rescue this football club.

Some great stuff on this thread. Still in shock to be honest. A disgrace he's gone.
What are the chances of new owners buying the club before the new season and reinstating Rafa. Yes i'm clutching at straws until he is in a new job.

but i am hoping he can come back one day and bring us the league title..
somehow i feel he won't rest till he's done that

Does anybody have Rafa's contact details? If anyone does will you send him a link to this thread, and other tribute ones.

Also, anyone have his home address? In the past year I have sent him many letters of support to the managers office, and now I want to send him a letter of thanks but don't know where to send it. An email or address would be great...

This thread brings back bittersweet memories; the reality of his departure is certainly sinking in.

Miss him already  :(

p.s. Hadn't seen the footage before of him dancing at the play, think it's the only time I've seen Rafa so carefree!

Cried watching that, although a smile was definitely raised at the end with the cricket quote.
