Don't really see the great positives everyone else seems to be seeing.  He's solid no doubt but very limited in the final third and ultimately not what you want at RB.  Hopefully he's just there due to our injuries and lack of a LB.

Don't recall him giving the ball away once in the time that I watched the game. Looked very competent on the ball; not a world beater going forward but for such a young player essentially playing out of his favoured position, he was fantastic. Also provides a threat in the opposition's area on set pieces as we saw in Europe.

His best position is centre back.

But he showing he can play right back, be solid defensively and keeps the ball.  He won't be a Daniel Alves or Glen Johnson going forward, but he'll keep the ball and do his job.  He has also shown to be a threat at set plays.

He'll end up as a centre back though IMO.

Impressed by how much he's improved at right back. Remember seeing him play there under Kenny during preseason last year, and he looked incredibly out of place then. Still doesn't look a natural there, but looking much better than before.

People complain about johnsons lack of defending skills. Then we bring in a young right back who hasnt put a foot wrong and say that he is very limited going forward yet he has banged in a goal in 2 games?

He keeps the possesion going, attacking threat from corners and I havnt seen him been minced yet.For a player who has only played 2 games of senior football before I am very happy and he can only get better

Good grief, the boy's made two full appearances and we've already had expert RAWK opinion saying he's limited going forward. That's absolute tosh of course, just look back to Sahin's WBA equaliser. At this stage Wisdom is clearly playing to orders whilst settling in to a relatively unaccustomed position.

To further stress his attacking abilities, as well as his usual centre back role, he's represented England youth in the advanced midfield position on at least a couple of occasions.

However I feel that his physical development has encouraged his principal deployment in the centre of defence for club and country, although Borrell has selected him in all three of these positions as well as a fourth at wide right.

His is an outstanding young talent, let's hope it develops fully in whatever direction.

Young Micah Richards.

I think this is a fair comparison. Solid build, comfortable on the ball and full of confidence. Will certainly get better at bombing forward as his confidence grows even further. As he learns to play RB (if indeed this is where Brendan sees him playing) he will learn when to get forward and when to hold.

This young lad is part of the future at LFC. In his two games he has hardly put a foot wrong. He is probably a centre back, maybe, but he has adapted extremely well at RB. Good player to have on the bench as he can cover CB and RB no problems. He will get plenty of minutes in the EL, FA Cup and League Cup this season now that Kelly is out for probably the season.

Huge potential and I really hope that Rodgers can bring him along well. Due to the size of our squad the young guys will get plenty of chances this season. So far they have impressed me a lot.

The future is bright!
I'd rather play for Liverpool Reserves than Everton.

Young Micah Richards.

Maybe in the raw physical sense. Micah Richards is more of an athletic centre back/right back, that creates openings on right due to sheer power and pace. Just judging on the two games I've seen of Wisdom, and in my opinion, he seems better technically on the ball than Richards is. And his movement and ability to pass out of tight places (and keep moving in order to create a better angle in preparation for the return pass) belies a tactical intelligence as well. He showed some smart pass+move+return the pass positioning and movement in the lead up to our second goal against West Bromwich. For all the potential Martin Kelly promises, Wisdom seems to have been more developed under Borrell's influence (probably due to his age) and it shows in his game. I'd love to see how well he plays at centreback somewhere down the line, but in the meanwhile I'm certainly going to keep an eye on his overall play, but especially his awareness of openings and channels.

I can't remember when was the last time I was so excited about the promise of so many talented youngsters in our squad, and so impressed by their early contributions and play!

How tall is he? If he is below 6 ft (1.83 m), then that makes that header he scored against Young Boys even more impressive.

Thought it was an assured league debut from Wisdom today. One particular moment showed his maturity - winning the ball inside the box after Gerrard lost possession and calmly clearing it. Didn't slide in or panic. Very good today.

Glad to see young Wisdom looked so comfortable on his PL debut. Previously our right back players kept passing back to Strkle. Nice to see him made a few touches to get away from the opposition in order to penetrate. The future looks bright!

Had a solid game, though unfortunately culpable for Holt's goal by being out of position. That aside, I thought he drove forward well, passed concisely, linked up with Sterling and defended with more experience than his age would suggest. Another threat at set pieces, too..

Thought he played well but he looks far too narrow when he's defending - it almost looks as if he's been caught out of position high up the pitch, then you see he's standing where the right-side CB should be. Aside from that, very encouraging.

Andre Wisdom's PL debut: Won 100% aerial duels, 100% ground duels, and had 96% pass completion [69/72].

Solid debut if ever I saw one.

decent debut as a right back.

there were 2/3 instances when there was a lot of space in front of him.he refused to attack it.he's a brilliant player but not a right back.

i hope robinson get's to break in soon because i think suso and johnson would dove-tail brilliantly

He's a CB, so I just want him to defend well and keep the ball, both boxes are ticked, if you want an expansive, attacking wing-back he's not your man

Agree 100%. Robinson or Enrique. Suso is not a winger but rather an attacking mid playing wide. We need Johnson overlapping into that space ahead.

But that does not take away from Wisdom`s poise and his effort.

He looks good and composed as a player on the ball. Defensively today made quite a few mistakes, tracking players too far inside on a number of occasions, pressuring too far and then losing position and a couple of problems with body angle but that's about him getting used to playing right back at this level.

Bit of a beast isn't he?  :)

I hate to get my hopes high up already but I really like this lad, seems tough, confident and not the type to take shit off anyone. Probably doesn't have the pace and technical ability for someone to be charging up and down the flanks but reckon he will move more into CB as his specialist role and full back as a back up option. Hes got some cracking players around him to learn the trade from.

Love this pic of him..

If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....

Come on man. Be fair on the guy. He is still young and developing. He is 18?

I've seen him playing at cb in the past. IMO his future lies at rb due to height.

For me he is physically strong, quick and technically sound. He has the ability to be a threat in the air too. Let the player develop his play in the final third. He has Brend and gj to learn from. Gj is an ideal mentor to help with his offensive play too. For me, if you're a young defender it's important to get a few good defensive performances on the board before the offensive stuff. That's what the lad has done.

He is a good prospect. Wise beyond his years too

He's still figuring out positioning in the PL at fullback.

Easily one of my favorite players. I've been really high on this kid since the first time I saw him on lfc.tv a few years ago.

He's an incredible physical specimen, but I'm seriously amazed at how fantastic he is with the ball at his feet. A couple times today I was struck by how similar he looked to Johnson with the ball at his feet. You rarely see a CB that comfortable/proficient with the ball at his feet, and you NEVER seen a teenage CB making his PL debut like that.

One of the best young defenders in England, undoubtedly.

*If* the club considers him a CB in the future, then why play him at RB? Shouldn't he be getting as many reps as possible at CB if that's his future position?

I suspect though he will stay at RB. He's looked pretty tidy there the last two games. Strong, fast, and some surprisingly good technical skills.

I agree with him though.

Skrtel has looked like he cba ever since Man City were linked with him. He's playing too casually too often this season.

We've done the same with Carragher and to an extent Kelly. As they mature they go into the centre.
