Dont mind the Bruins as an original 6 team, but well glad to see St Louis finally win it, they were the best of the expansion bunch from 6-12 teams which was a damn big moment in the league, made the final a few times, have had some good teams but never quite got there. Bobby Orr's goal also, reminded for decades. Hockey and Missura , together at last  ;D

Congrats St. Louis Blues.

Last overall on January 3rd to Stanley Cup Champions in June.

What a story and it shows you can always turn it around with hard work.

I guess this comeback, although it wasn’t a series comeback more a seasonal comeback, will be used as inspiration for teams for years to come.

Amazing stuff. Dead last in the league with an unproven interim coach and playing a rookie goalie. Binnington has been unbelievable

With the draft starting on Friday, and some dealings to be made, it could be an interesting few days in the NHL!.

San Jose Sharks have re-signed Erik Karlsson to a whopping 8 year deal working out at  $11.5m per season.

Then in a big move last night New York Rangers traded the 20th overall pick and Neal Pionk to winnipeg Jets for Jacob Trouba. I'm guessing Rangers GM must have some dodgy photos of Jets GM somewhere  :P   The 20th pick is actually the Jets pick they gave the Rangers for Kevin Hayes. So somehow the Rangers get Trouba and Brendan Lemieux for a bottom pairing defenceman and a couple months of Kevin Hayes.

Be interesting to see if Rangers can now sign Trouba, of if they trade him for a better package at the deadline. Best option is they get him signed of course. Really good RHD's are not that easy to find!

Sharks have a very small window to win the Cup now. Aging and expensive squad. They are slowly reaching their cap space and still have some RFAs to sign.

I know it’s way to early but it will be interesting to see what teams like the Canucks, Canadiens and Coyotes can do.

absolutely mad money, for a player who has topped 50 points in just 1 season.

I like Kevin Hayes - he's a really good 2 way centre, but holy crap, 7 plus mill a season is crazy.

He will drive Flyers fans mad too with his utter inability to shoot on breakaways, and his insistence on looking for the pass when a shot is on. I love a playmaker, but he is maddening.

New Jersey showing that they mean business. Drafting Jack Hughes and trading for PK Subban. If Taylor Hall can rediscover how to play hockey, they’ll definitely be a playoff contender next season.

Yes, it's everyone's favourite day, Free Agent Frenzy Day!

Looks like the Rangers are going to sign Artemi Panerin.

Mats Zuccarello has signed a 5 year $30mill deal with the Wild.

Four days until puck drop! Will be keeping an eye on the Rangers, Coyotes, Panthers and Avalanche to begin with. They’ve all made some interesting additions both player and coaching wise. The Metropolitan division must be a nightmare to play in!

Frustration so far for Leafs. I know the enforcer guys are gone but we need that guy who’s willing to fight and protect, no one on the roster is up for that job.

Yep. Should have been canned years ago. It was a surprise he survived the summer cull at Sportsnet. I'm surprised they didn't wait until tomorrow though (although to be fair their PR response has been poor throughout)

Disingenous of him to say this one day "...You people, you come to our country..." - Who might he mean by that, Martians?  Then in a radio interview the next day to play tough guy and not apologise, claiming he did not mean immigrants, he meant "Everybody should wear the poppy", and that he was only standing up for veterans; who would disagree with that?  Now he's passing across as the martyr who stood up for patriotic values all would agree with. He spins, and passes across as the folk hero who never backs down on his honourbale principles.

I've always detested Cherry. From years ago when they showed HNIC in the UK (they may still do, no idea!), couldn't stand him. Couldn't believe the shit he got away with and was seen as acceptable. The xenophobic shit he came out with constantly about French Canadians and Europeans was enough to turn me against him, this stuff lately is different level again.

A truly horrible man, and such a shame they (his emplyers and co-host and fans) stuck by him for so long.

How long will Babcock last? It’s not looking good in Toronto at the moment. How about them Caps, eh? They are having a Presidents’ Trophy start to the season. Alex Ovechin is an unbelievable player.

Regardless of who comes in they still have a lackluster defense and are a really soft team. Seattle should go for him.

Dallas Stars have sacked head coach Jim Montgomery for 'unprofessional conduct'.

https://twitter.com/DallasStars/status/1204423056480972801?s=20

Nothing more as of details yet, but maybe it's to do with all the stuff coming out with coaches abusing their powers, and being physically and mentally abusive to players?

It's just pretty crazy what is going on in the NHL with this!

It's all very vague.

From the press conference via Twitter:

Jim Nill said will not discuss the incident out of respect for those involved. Did say it had nothing to do with the recent points from the NHL BOG meeting. Also said no other employees involved. There was no criminal investigation involved.

Nill said he was made aware this weekend of a "material act of unprofessionalism." There is no connection to any past or present players per Nill.

Yeah, it’s so vague that there will be all kind of speculation. Dallas are in a playoff spot after a slow start. Sad if this ruins their season.
