I enjoy the PR team bombarding us with VVD pictures whenever we lose nowadays.

Gotta try to keep the morale up at any cost I guess.

It's his personal IG account (probably run by his management). The aqua training does look interesting tho. Saw Mane and Salah share images as well earlier in the season.

What is the point of that Aqua training? What specifically does it help with?

I'd rather watch that than our games at this point to be fair.

Cheering on every one of his leg raises.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I used to live in West Cork, and I was having a drink one time in a pub in Glandore, and the old farmer next to me said, "the knacker has a horse in". It had me thinking for a moment, as I couldn't decode what he meant, despite my own dad being from these parts. When I looked around though, there was a traveller with a horse on a long rope swimming in the harbour off the pier. It was a way of healing the sprain on the horse without too much weight pressure. Interestingly the pejorative term we more commonly use for traveller, Gypsy, comes from James Joyce's calling them Red Egyptians, getting shortened to gypsy. From this I learnt that 1. Van Dijk is a horse. 2. his owners are tinkers.

Aqua therapy is great and aqua training is as tough as you’ll ever do!  Running through the deep end of a pool with the aqua suit on drags the hell out of the legs and is great for building up power.

Glandore is a beautiful wee spot. Lived round the coast just outside Kinsale for a few years and tried to get down whest as often as I could. Loved it down round Bantry and Glengarriff and the ruggedness of Beara

Quote
His recovery from that night at Vicarage Road, when Watford became the first team to beat Liverpool in the Premier League in 2019-20, is still a work in progress. “I feel good but still have problems because of my injury,” he says. “It wasn’t just an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), it was an ACL plus meniscus injury, so it’s more difficult to recover.

“I’ve worked really hard this year, it’s a process, I have to be patient and to repair these problems. If you have to miss some games no problem, but when I’m back I want to be 100 per cent.”

Deulofeu spoke to The Athletic in March last year shortly after he had surgery in Barcelona where the initial phase of his recovery took place, and he later relocated to Andorra to continue his rehabilitation. Body and mind were put to the test. “With this type of injury the most important thing is the mental approach,” he says. “You have to be patient but also try to enjoy recovering. If you wake up every day and don’t try to enjoy it, it’s gonna be tough because this is a long injury. Then when you finish your recovery and get back on the pitch, it’s still not finished; you have to keep working, so mental strength is really important.”

Snipper from an interview with Deulofeu who had an ACL injury against us,

Van Dijk will need time next season. Gomez as well.

They may miss games at times too if Knee swells or is sore

how does one even go about tearing their patellar tendon though. i have had patellar tendonitis in both knees but couldnt imagine tearing one. they can withstand large force. did they take away some of his patellar tendon to repair his knee ligaments previously or something. its a very unusual injury.

also, im amazed at some of the exercises professional footballers still do. its pretty common knowledge now that leg extension are not good for your knees and put stress on your acl but you still see professional footballers at them . i think if saw a photo of vvd at them recently as well.  saw a clip of some real madrid players doing leg presses recently as well. nothing wrong with leg press but their form was horrible. going up on their toes and everything. makes you wonder.

I’m still hopeful that this is just a ruse and if we somehow got to the CL final he’d be available. He probably could but if we played him in the CL final then he’d be available for the Dutch selection at the Euros which would be a nightmare.
