Freebies - Free games for all!
« on: October 27, 2016, 02:17:55 pm »
Can't really see anywhere better to post this so maybe worth a thread of it's own?

Currently Borderlands Handsome Collection is free on Xbox One. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/borderlands-the-handsome-collection-unlock-bundle/bvrk77xxgbwb

Any other free games anywhere may be worth in one single place?

Part of the charm, but you can play it with either the newish controls or the old school ones.

I'll have to give it a go with both and see, can't remember what setting I was on.

Still love the series though. I think 4 was my favorite though.

Eugh, I did the same and downloaded Resident Evil for my PS4.  I only got into the next corridor before I couldn't take it anymore and deleted the fucker.

The Borderlands Handsome Collection for free is amazing if you've not played them before, that's one awesome and one really good game which both have good replay value.

Thimbleweed Park free on epic launcher

That's if you dare install the piece of shite (epic) been hundreds of hacking attempts on my account since Fortnite took off, at least now you can change your account email and use an app like google authenticator for 2 step login so it's not as bad as it used to be

I'm not installing the epic launcher, purposely buying 3rd party shit last minute as to damage other launchers such as steam is a horrible practice.

Yep, which sucks because I was really looking forward to Metro Exodus but I'll be waiting until it drops on Steam now probably.

Not had any issues with the launcher myself, but then I've only got it for the freebies.

Quoting to flag up that Transistor is the free game from the 18th April. Worth the playthrough just to hear the soundtrack.

If you're willing to put up with the Epic launcher, they've got Kingdom Come Deliverance (medieval German setting for an open world RPG) free from the 13th. Never got round to buying it but may give it a go on a freebie.

I really enjoyed it, combat system was difficult to get a handle on but really good once you get used to it. The first boss fight was brutal because I had mostly just kept enemies at range with my bow and only moves in close to finish them up to that point.

Just seen replies. Yeah, I had wrong country. Wishing for a Darklands remake does that. I didn't get out of the initial house after starting it sadly. May give it another go around when I'm more in the mood for that much exposition from an NPC. What Schmidt says about the combat makes me think I was a bit too tetchy with it initially.

----

Total War Shogun 2 is free on Steam from 27th April to 1st May. 9 years old now but it still holds up pretty well. Mainly because that Shogun era Japan vibe was done so well in a strategy game and CA spent so long polishing it before releasing a game on their (then) new engine.
