Just thinking about it again......what a fucking nonsense PSVR having an exclusive!

What have they got the exclusive over? If someone has a vive like me, they're not shelling out another £600 for a PS4 and PSVR and if someone has the PSVR they're not shelling out a couple of K to play an enhanced version on the Vive.

There will be one or two enthusiasts or pro-gamers who have a choice which platform to play on but in the real world there's almost zero overlap.

I'm guessing Sony really want to punt their VR and having Resident Evil 7 exclusive to that system will give it a huge boost.

the ps4 version will work as normal for peasants who don't have vr

pc peasants will have to wait a while before they can play in vr, as for xbox one users, well they're just peasants who will have to play it the old fashioned way

Got a PS4 so that's fine. Just hoping the experience carries over into the normal version. Obviously it won't be as immersive.

Resi was originally a classic PlayStation property, so they're probably trying to put that stamp down on it again - it's one of their ones that got away, like MGS, Tomb Raider, etc. PS clearly takes a lot of pride in its lauded exclusives throughout its history, so doing it's an attempt to sort of hark back to that in people's minds, if only for a brief period before it's released on all formats.

Even though VR is very well implemented for the game, I don't think it started out development for the sole purpose of VR. If it had, it would have a far more immersive control scheme to it. Obviously playing in VR is the definitive experience if you want to physically shit yourself, but the VR mode is essentially tacked onto the standard version of the game. There is no "normal version". VR is just an option, which is great considering just how intense it is. I can see myself playing certain sections on a TV just to get by. It really is ridiculous just how immersive it is in VR, and it hasn't even been built from the ground up for it.

I am playing it on the PSVR and almost I shit myself on many occasion and cried out like a tart on a few occasions ... mad game.

Damn son, this is getting crazy good reviews.

Resi 6 was one of the games that taught me pre-ordering was a bad idea (I ended up with 2 copies & played neither. Don't ask..), but when the reviews hit it became an insta-buy.

Bought, pre-loaded on steam & ready to play when I return from work tomorrow. Can't wait

had to take a break, luckily i'd not charged my ds4 for a few days so the battery has run out intense as fuck in vr

nothing really bad at the moment but it just cranks the atmosphere up and makes it feel very real so you're constantly expecting something to happen

also switched the movement to smooth instead of the fixed degree turns which works well, don't know if it was in the demo as i shit out early on

Anyway, I don't think it's the batteries that are the obstacle. It's latency. Although it seems like that's already been fixed, as there's a wireless add on available for HMD's, so that'll be an extra 200 quid for the privilege of wireless play. At least they are getting somewhere.
