They've listed my team name incorrectly.

Should be 43-19 but they've got it down as 42-19. No one rides a 42 chain ring. No one.

Buggers...

I just did Parbold in 42 - 25 :-P (My ONCE is 52 - 42 chainring, 12-25 cassette).

So in fantasy competition you can make your 6 transfer before the stage of the 1st stage and receive points that any of those any of those riders transfered in score I take it?

So this would me pack your team with GC contenders so you receive lots of points when it comes to the final stands but then transfer them out for the first week might be a go?

A very interesting competition this....  :)

Was thinking this myself, wondered wether to set up a team who'd finish strong in GC for 1 july, then change for start of first stage and you could change again for mountain stages rather than a well balanced team. Could be fun this.

Might be an idea not to reveal tactics to all and sundry before the start. ;)

All in the name of healthy competition of course. :)

Yep, that's what I'm gonna do. However, you can only make 6 transfers in the first week, meaning that if you have 9 GC guys then 3 of your guys won't score you any points in the first week (and for most of the second week). Also the top GC guys are flipping expensive, we can probably guess correctly 8 of the top 10, but you can't afford them all. And the final standings bonus is not really that great outside top 10. So I'm thinking 5-6 big GC guys and cheapish sprinters (Greipel, Rojas, Ventoso) at the start might be the optimal strategy. Wanna get some Frenchies in, 'cause I'm sure they will try to get the yellow. Waiting for the official teams too, because I can't see past HTC for the TTT, so wanna get the team leader for the yellow jersey bonus.  :D

Vandevelde and Danielson are ridiculously cheap and almost certainty for top 20 (VV has a habit of falling down though), somewhere around 12-17, but I'm not sure the bonus is worth it.

I think Team Sky may just give them a run for their money on the TTT.

With regards to the yellow jersey bonus on the TTT stage, there are no induividulal or team points for the stage. Besides, even if you were to get points for the current yellow jersey, it will only net you 6 points.

Cheers for heads up on starting line up = end GC points, might have`missed that.

Now buzzing about the start this weekend inc presentation of teams on friday night.

Still bit pissed Katusha going all Russian and denying Rodriguez (unless it his choice too) a chance to shine - like a Spanish Philipe Gilbert in the steep uphill finishes, great to watch and big rival to AC in those finishes.

Tenner. You can pick them up from most supermarkets.

Contains programme, wall chart, map and dvd with highlights from last years tour. Good value.

That Cat 4 climb right at the end of stage means a difficult start for the sprinters. Looking like one for the likes of Gilbert, Hushovd or possibly Canceralla?

 :o

Yorkshire tourist bosses are vying for the right to host the opening stages of the 2016 Tour de France cycle race.

The first two days of racing are held in a new location outside of France every two years.

The proposed route would take in Leeds, the Yorkshire Dales, Scarborough, York, Hull and Sheffield.

The tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire is leading the bid. It believes hosting the event would raise the region's world profile and boost the economy.

A bid team has visited the organising committee in Paris and plans are under way for the organisers to visit Yorkshire and review the proposed route.
'Advanced talks'

Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity said: "I can confirm that we are having advanced talks to host the Tour de France.

"Those in-depth discussions are ongoing but I can reveal Yorkshire's bid has been positively received by the organising committee at this stage.

"Yorkshire is a world class destination experienced at successfully hosting world class events and we believe it will provide the perfect backdrop to the world's greatest cycle race."

The Tour de France is an annual three-week race held in France and the surrounding countries.

It was last held in the UK in 2007 when London and Kent hosted the opening stages.

Combination of thinking there's thirty one days in June and head pickled spending hours on internet booking a family holiday meant I didn't get a chance to bias my team with GC contenders before the deadline, sometimes you've just got to take it on the chin :D  Good luck lads hope the dopers don't take out Contador or I'll be really fucked as I used him as a GC banker.

Did my first 3 updates right now. Hopefully Gilby or Chavanel will be the money tomorrow. Frenchies will definitely try, I hope Sylvain enjoyed the yellow last year, so he wants it back. :D I'll get Cav, Petacchi and the yellow jersey in after the TTT.
