And the poor guy is now on Mancini's bench... sometimes I have to wonder wtf the coaches are thinking.

I saw glimpses but for me he never justified the praise he was getting

Can someone update me on the Spain game, what's the score? Why was Pepe playing, was Casillias injured? And was he really substituted after a blunder?

is that the end of marchena's record of not losing in some stupidly large number of games? happened in the same week that kuyt also loses his dutch record for most number of matches in a row. both were something daft like 50+ weren't they?

Finished 4-1 to Argentina. Dont know why Pepe was playing but he came off at half time. Apparently the idea was to play both keepers anyway so Valdes was always going to play the 2nd half

They took Reina off at half-time? Fucking nonce. I don't care if that was the plan pre game, you leave him on after what happened in the first.

It wasn't even a mistake - the pitch gave way so I doubt if it would affect his confidence one way or the other.

I know it's a bit of a conspiracy theory but, Pepe played for plausible deniability ... Spain's WC winning side didn't lose  :P

Torres has a slight knock to the knee from training and Del Bosque didn't think it was worth putting him on, so just kept him on the bench instead.

Pretty sure it's just a reaction to him getting injured on international duty.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Thought he got up pretty quickly. Obviously it's not something you want to happen but it's not like the Arsenal game where it was a mistake.  He'll be fine.

Pile of shite their World Cup Win. Although, as I am not one for being sour grapes, I have to hand it to them when they won the Euros, their attacking play was breathtakingly good.

Maybe its me, coz you know, I'm just a little fucked up, but I have a hunch that if England dived, rolled, and short passed their way to becoming European and World Champions, then you'ld be boring the fuck out of anyone who's willing to listen about how super duper England are. Just a hunch like

The amount of posession that Ireland needlessly surrendered was worrying. Stray passes, and poor concentration, they were very slack at times. They should have been more assertive against a team like Andorra. Still though, fuck it, a win is a win.
