No need for sectarianism in this forum

 :lmao

Back to the topic at hand, I don't really get why so many people seem so worried about this game, we battered them in the cup match and were extremely unlucky and I don't really believe we can keep being this unlucky.

Lineup wise the only thing I don't want to see is Can starting, it is one thing to make mistakes, it is even understandable if one lacks the quality to be a top player, it is another to not actually put in the effort required and in his last couple of starts he just seems to be going through the motions. Since our game/defence is so dependent on application and the midfield I think it would be pretty disastrous if the others have to carry him for large parts of the game, again.

Some would say unlucky and others would say poor finishing.  Only Mane and sturridge are really clinical in front of goal in our team.  The rest seem to miss  a lot of chances.  That's nothing to do with luck.

Our record at Leicester isn't that great.  Even when they were playing poor last season they still beat us 3-1 and the season before that they beat us 2-0.  So i can see why some would be worried.

I think it might have come to the point when we can't call Sturridge clinical anymore. He snatches at shots and rushes things in a way he never used to. As ever, he's very aware of what's around him, and whether he has space for a shot or needs to make space, but instead of being able to trust his body to hold people off or to move quicker than defenders, he snatches at shots more often than not.

Obviously there are still moments on class that look clinical, like the header against Arsenal and the movement and finish against West Ham at the end of last season. But just look at the chance Robertson gave him early in the Burnley game. A few years ago, when he was clinical, that'd gone in and you'd have known he was going to score it before his first touch even. But over the course of the last few seasons, I think I've seen that clinical past drifting away.

Yeah i can't argue with that.  I've been hoping that he would rediscover his form, but the sturridge of 2013 is never coming back.  Definitely lost a yard of pace and not as sharp as he used to be.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Can in front of the defence would surely make a difference to teams that want to beat our press and go long. I think when Lallana comes back he must be a shoe in to start in the middle with Gini and Can, especially away from home. Coutinho too often tries to force the issue when he's central like on Tuesday night. I think the only way to get the best out of Phil centrally is when our first choice attack is in front of him to ping through balls to. who's with me?  ;D

How surprising that our lack of depth at CB gets exposed after a handful of games.

The silver lining of course is those who say it's not a personnel issue must not be worried about it. As makes no difference who plays or comes in anyway.

Can wont be a big miss considering how poor he has been, but more importantly we have options. No Matip and Lovren is an issue (they havent been very good but a pairng of Gomez and Klavan is...)

I think this team picks itself really, 10 changes plus Coutinho who came off at half time so everyone will be fresh.

                                     Simon

Trent                Joel                    Dejan             Alberto

                      James                  Emre

                                       Phil

Mo                              Danny                          Bobby

If Lovren isn't fit then please PLEASE play Gomez ahead of Klavan. Oh and id personally stick with Danny Ward for a few games but can't see it happening.

Jesus. If Matip Lovren and Can are all out, then whose the back up CB if Klavan or Gomez has to go off?

Only a handful of games in and us not buying a CB is looking even more disastrous.

Except we'll have two of our three best attackers on the pitch. We'll score a couple.

So who we putting in defence then?

Quote
Klopp told his pre-match press conference: “It’s nothing major with Dejan but it was enough to keep him out of two games and he is not in training so far, so that means he is also a doubt for the weekend, which is not too cool.

“It’s the same with, but completely different [injuries], Joel Matip and Emre Can. They have little bits from the last game so we have to see if they can be back in training today or tomorrow, but it’s not sure at the moment.

“We have to wait and see what we can do. There are two days to go.”
