Overall i'm satisfied with our summer dealings.

What really baffled me is Sellling smith ? I felt we fill find a backup . Now it seems we won't buy any players and use milner there. Was smith that bad or we felt it benefits him by going to bournemouth.

Do we have any young LB in academy ? Moreno often has those niggles . We really needed a backup here

This guys sounds like just what we needed - and at a bargain price.
Solid, no brain farts, a bit of a Ronseal - does exactly what it says on the tin - i.e. a defender who can defend.

From the little we've seen he looks an upgrade on Skrtel. We'll see though when the real stuff starts.

He's solid, has some pace, is aware of his teammates around him, plays on the front foot and knows how to come out to cut the pass out. 4 mil at 30 years old, it's an excellent buy.

The guy is going to be fondly remembered at Anfield, in future. Such calm defending. Blocks shots like swatting flies.

First sight of him last night and whilst he wasn't tested a great deal, he looked solid when called upon, and comfortable.

As DanA says, we'll discover a lot more once the competitive stuff begins, but the early signs are certainly positive. Hopefully he proves to be a bargain.

I really don't care if he's ever any more than that. Still preseason, obviously, but it'd be great to have a CB option who's just a simple, solid defender for once.

First time I've actually watched him properly today and my god, how good does it feel to have a CB that doesn't try to overplay it, just gets rid if in doubt! Really good signing so far!

I like him a lot already.

Looks a very shrewd and solid signing who really adds some competition for a starting place at CB.  He was very good today, as he has been in all of the games he's played so far.

Looks a great signing. Centre back position is looking very strong once everyone is fit. Lovren, Klavan, Matip, Sakho and Gomez waiting in the wings- brilliant.

Stoic, old fashioned almost, very solid.

Seems like one who's coming into his prime slightly late, having spent years developing his game and improving, Estonians revere him.

Could be a solid player for us over the next 2-3 years, a very solid option that will push the likes of Sakho for a spot.

I'm probably getting way ahead of myself, but a decent shout for the best fourth choice CB in the league? Oozes class so far. I wouldn't say he's 'no nonsense' either. I think he actually looks very classy on the ball. Incredibly composed, agile and a good pair of feet.

On top of all that, he also seems to find himself in the right place at the right time very often. Very very happy with this signing.

He really does remind me of Hyppia. He's intelligent, has great positioning. He doesn't have tremendous athletic ability, but he just does the right things, his decision making so far is very positive. He's better with his feet than Hyppia was, but Hyppia was amazing with his aerial prowess, something I haven't seen much evidence of with Ragnar yet.

I think Klopp really isn't just going for players who are gifted or have tremendous physical traits, he really is going for players who are intelligent with leadership abilities. You can see that in all of his signings this summer.

Mm.. well whoever ends up being fourth choice is probably too good to be fourth choice. They're a really good set of CBs.

I don't think there is such as thing as 4th choice. If all the CB's are healthy, you'll have two who will play on the left, and two who will play on the right. There will be a 5th choice however, and I'm certain that will be Gomez.

Hes a great competitor. We couldn't break him when we played Augsburg in the Europa. He's a real professional and knows why he's here. This is good for our defense because we now have 4 players competing against each other for the starting spot.

That was a typical Klavan performance i would say. Yesterday Lovren seemed to grab the highlights with last ditch tackles and more aggressive defending in general. But as a CB pair i must say they worked very well and Klavan was calm and positive with his passes. Itīs probably safe to say that they will start against Arsenal considering the fact that they have played the most during preseason from our current crop of CB-s. The intensity will be different from Arsenal, i hope they can manage.
There was one moment when they lost Suarez. I think there was a cross from the left with Klavan and Milner both thinking that the other is marking Suarez but both didnīt reach him. Thatīs probably something that can be accounted to not playing together that much, basically a communication fail. Hopefully those errors can be swiped out during the remaining week. Also iīm a bit worried about Migs and his controlling of the box which can be difficult for CBīs. But hopefully he has improved also.

Caught out of position once or twice, but nothing too worrying. I suspect he's a shoe in for the game at the Emirates. Looks strong, committed and has a pretty good understanding with Lovren.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

Slotted into our style of play, well done to the guy. Top pro.
