Just been watching Modric and Iniesta compilations, trying to figure out whose style of play Naby resembles the most. Seems he has the skill set of both but my primary question is:
1. Who do you guys think Keita resembles the most and my secondary question is:
2. Who is better- a prime Luka Modric or a prime Andres Iniesta?

Mods, isn't it about time you changed the title to show that Naby's here now?

You're mistaken, this is the thread to discuss Naby Keita's watch.

Could this lad play as a number 10, if we don’t get Fekir?

Don't even want to think about that, because that would be very disappointing. Especially since the Coutinho money has barely been touched yet.

just seen his highlights vs bury - the way he receives the ball in tight spaces and instinctively turns and places forward passes is a breath of fresh air.

He was excellent tonight against Blackburn.. Passing was top notch and tackling also. His link up play with Robertson was also something that stood out for me, it was almost telepathic at times.

He exudes arrogance, and I mean that in a good way.

He's going to f*** with whoever is in front of him on the pitch. Keita knows it. His opponent, poor soul, knows it. Everyone in the stands and watching on TV knows it.

I can't wait to see him torturing Pogba.

One thing i’ve noticed is he tends to knock the ball away right before being challenged. Means 9 times out of 10, he wins the free kick.

He's a 360 player. No one can box him in. He happy to use both feet, can turn in tight spots, pick a pass and got a decent shot. He looks a natural in the middle of the park, and he's a upgrade on anyone we have that can play that role. his quick feet and turns will compliment the runs of our forwards. Can't wait to see him this season.

“I am someone who has this real winning mentality,” Keita said, having been escorted one of Anfield’s hospitality suites from Melwood following one of Klopp’s infamous double training sessions. “I have a huge desire to win. That is why I am aggressive in a positive sense on the field. My first mind-set when I am out on the field is to defend well and not concede. As a midfielder, when you have sealed things up at the back, my job is to provide the ammunition for the strikers and forwards, to create opportunities for them. Also, if I get a chance that comes my way, I want to take it and score. But I am a team player. I think about the team and the group always.”

Maybe getting a little bit too far ahead of myself, but I think he could legitimately challenge De Bruyne as the best midfielder in the league next season. He's easily that talented. The only question was how long it takes him to settle in and adapt, and early signs are it won't take that long.

Agreed.
I feel many are overlooking his skills goimg forward due to his exceptional defensive skills.
He'll be our Iniesta next season and I'm predicting he'll finish the season acknowledged by most as the best midfielder in the league.

His movement and style is so damn good to watch.
What came to mind during the Blackburn match was a Porsche purring around the pitch.

I don’t think there is a player like him in England, he’s gonna smash it for us I think.

Give him player of the season already, is right Naby, lad.

This guy is gonna tear up the script. Unbelievable talent, midfield dynamo!
In all my 40 years, i've never-ever-ever been this excited for the up-coming season.
I'm quite literally stunned by just how good he is. How at home he looks out there, operating in a Liverpool midfield, already!
There won't be a long settling in period with Naby.. it's literally like a duck to water stuff. Like he just belongs there or something.

8,9,10,11 - Keita, Firmino, Mane, Salah. - Is the premiership ready for this?? Is the world even ready for this? Really??

It is the mix of skills that leaves me drooling.
He is effectively like two class players, one a tenacious defensive destroyer, another a forward thinking dynamic pass maestro, rolled together and he is switching between them at will. Also there is something about him that reminds me of Luka Modrić, that bit after he gets the ball in busy places, where he deliberately starts the movement at slower pace and as soon as the tracking player follows he switches both the direction and speed in an insant. So simple and so effective. Whatever we achieve this season, Naby will be at the heart of it.
