And I love what Joel Matip brings to this team.

An assured calm defender who wins so much in the air.

4-1! Wow!

It's wonderful to see us create chances like that. And some decent finishes too. Firmino's two were lovely. Mane's was equally good. Lallana's wasn't too bad either. Really enjoyed that game!

Joel Matip is the answer to our prayers. We have a player that knows how to use his frame/attributes to defend. He reads the game well. He ate up everything that came his way today.

Anyone who continues to moan about Lucas after that second half deserves what they get.

Some brilliant goals in this game to be honest and some of our football was breathtaking. That will severely effect Leicester.

Absolutely brilliant! Shame about Lucas' little mishap, but these things happen when you haven't been playing for a while. Other than that he did not do badly considering it isn't his natural position.

4 goals vs the champions? Couldn't ask for more. Onwards and upwards!

There were two "offside" calls against us that we wrong. We probably wouldn't have scored though.

At times we ripped Leicester apart. Loved the way Coutinho skipped past Huth as if he wasn't there.

It's hard to pick a MOTM there. Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Mane but for me it was Firmino.

Don't think many teams in the league can match that attack.

Very decent midfield too. ( Hendo can't score. Ever. )

Defense is still a laugh but hey, early days.

Cracking performance, although they looked rather ordinary it has to be said.

Firmino and Lallana are magic.

Please, please, please play that from three again, we looked fucking ace going forward and Sturridge is so good at using space the other players make for him.

That one in the second half when Lallana's run took a defender away and Sturridge took up the space and should have scored, we've missed that kind of movement.

Lallana, what a player he is.
Mane, what a player he is.
Sturridge, what a player he is.
Firmino, what a player he is.

What an attacking force, steady the defensive ship with Lovren coming back and Karius in and we have the makings of a very formidable force.

A bit wobbly at the back still but we almost toyed with Leicester at the other end in the second half and could have scored at least 3 more. :)

I really like the look of Matip. His passes out wide were solid and accurate. He reminds me a bit of a right sided mama in that he can move forward and pass the ball well.

Both of them look for a pass with their clearing headers which is nice for retaining the ball. Skrtel infuriated me as he would always head it to the opposition.

Other than the goal we gifted they only created one chance whole game. Defense was solid today I thought.

really? Thought they where mostly very good.

Matip is just already showing his class. Literally head and shoulders above anyone else in our team. Just what we needed.

I feel much happier with James Milner in the back too, so much calmer.

I've said it before and never with any conviction but I'm not sure we're a better attacking force with Coutinho in the side. He can obviously be magic but the movement of Firmino, Sturridge and Mane is frightening and they're all better goal threats than Coutinho too. Bloody good problem to have, mind.

Big shouts to Hendo, Gini and Lallana today who I thought were all terrific. Wijnaldum doesn't always do the flash stuff but he put himself about, always looked to drive us forward and made a good contribution again. Henderson was superb, Lallana is growing every game.

Oh, and Joel Matip is fucking brilliant. If his name was Bailly and he played for that lot he'd be all over the back pages.

Oh, and Joel Matip is fucking brilliant.

I agree, but we didn't spend £45m on him and we had a positive net spend over the summer. So...

We played fantastic football and the crowd sounded amazing. Cut out the mistakes and we can challenge for the title. :scarf
