If Joshua lost then he’d be well down the pecking order and wondering where he goes from there. Surely this is all about getting the win, getting the belts back and going from there. Bit like us grinding out the wins over the last month or two prior to the Derby.

Oddly, I think tubs McGinty would give Wilder fits. Captain Windmill isn't much of a boxer and Ruiz can take a shot.

Boring fight, not sure how Joshua would fair against wilder or fury. Don’t see him taking either of them two on in his next few fights.

Smart fight from AJ really showed some good boxing ability.

Good to see

Was about to use the same analogy. Didn't need to be flashy from AJ, just get the win.

Shit fight, terrible atmosphere. From Joshua's perspective however, an intelligent and mature performance. Impressed by his stamina and discipline. Not easy to box off the back foot when you're used to knocking people out.

Brilliant performance from AJ, but an awful fight. He should win by at least 8 rounds barring any fucked up judges. In the right place for corruption mind you

Ruiz fought like a make a wish competition winner. Didn't show heart of a champion there. Doubt he becomes champ again. In the championship rounds you'd expect Ruiz to bite on his gumshield and risk getting ko'd but nope

Excellent from AJ

Standard win, exactly what should of happened in first fight, not sure it really tells us too much about Joshua though, he wont fight many much shorter, less reach and as fat as that

Yep. It was an ugly Liverpool style performance to get the W. 😂 He can now spank an overmatched opponent like Everton.

Great from Joshua that. Casuals will say it's a bad fight but it was a masterclass against a difficult opponent who had the mental edge.

Don’t think that performance puts any fear into the likes of Fury our Wilder.

Joshua did what he had to and kept the risk down. It would have been too risky to get close so he used his jab and feet. Ruiz was carrying too much weight to get close enough to Joshua. Maybe not enough big punches for some people but sometimes you have to box cleverly.

Yep his five seconds of fame are over. As for Joshua, I think Wilder flatlines him and Fury outpoints him. I hope I'm wrong though.

Boxing wise that was outstanding from AJ. It wasnt great from a banging point of view but that was one for the purists. Ruiz got nowhere near him and AJ deserves the belts. He proved he can box tonight.

Terrible fight. That's not what people want to see.

His tactics were to avoid Ruiz all night, instead of facing him.
