Great performance, although not perfect, as Klopp alluded to saying that we will have to play better on Sunday.

Not read through the whole thread, but hope the ref got some plaudits. He was excellent throughout, making the correct decisions consistently, not falling for any simulation or exaggeration from the Porto players, and didn't dish out any unnecessary cards.

What a performance from the lads...Porto are not mugs, unless they play us it seems. Their keeper had a nightmare but we did everything right and didn't seem to break a sweat either.

Last night they played like a team that seemed used to having all the time in the world on the ball and being able to play at their own pace.  We’re the best in the world at not allowing teams to do that, to the extent that most teams in the PL deliberately change their game plan to not allow us to counter press them and create chances that way.  I guess when you are by far the biggest fish in your own league you are less likely to want to alter your game plan just to counter your opponent, especially at home.

Last night they do get a bit of a pass for the number of injuries that they had to deal with, and for that goalkeeping display.  Without the GK it could have actually been 0-0 at half time which could have lead to a very different result.

We just need to make sure that if a Super League ever does happen we insist on Porto being invited to join.

I’m fairly sure when we beat them 5-0 they were on the back of some long winning/unbeaten run. Maybe we are just a step up but like you say, they don’t seem to change the way they play against us.
