Just come back from seeing the Coral, they were in great form. A good mixture of new and old stuff, including Simond Diamond and Wildfire from their first album. They are awesome musicians, and haven't suffered from having Bill Ryder-Jones leaving.

Any chance of doing another Christmas Concert lads?

Was at 'Bob Harris presents..' at the Phil on Friday night - I was really only there to see Richard Thompson and he was simply fantastic. Unfortunatly, Bob Harris spent ages telling long, rambling boring stories and RT ran up against the curfew at 11 o'clock. I was lucky enough to be in row 2, right in front of Richard and I was mesmerised watching his fingers - I can't believe he only has 5 on each hand. He really is the most remarkable guitarist - if you haven't heard him, make the effort - you won't regret it.

The alternative stage has been announced for Leeds/Reading, Stephen K Amos and Rufus Hound plus a lot more. Can't wait to see K Amos. Gonna be a great year at Leeds!

The Rat is quite poppy compared to their other stuff but its worth having a listen to. I don't dislike the Black Keys but I just have all the songs unorganised on my iPod so I couldn't say the names of their songs, they blend into one big bluesy shindig.

Nice, dirty bluesy shindig! thats pretty much what you can expect from them live too! only a LOT louder!

will check the walkmen out later..... have you seen the black keys before? if not you will be in for a treat....trust me....good banter from Dan Auerbach too...

He said at the manchester gig that of all the cities they've played in they have never had so much stuff stolen as they have when in manchester! first thing i thought was,you havent played liverpool yet!

So, the BIG CHILL 2010.

Thom Yorke was quite poor, i knew what to expect with his suicide mode, but was
shocked at just how painful his music is.He was having a lot of trouble with his guitars
which made it ten times worse.

Martina Topley Bird, who had apparently featured with Massive Attack, has an astoundingly
attractive voice.

Newton Faulkner, just him and his geetar, was captivating, finishing off with a crowd involving
bohemian rhapsody, great.

Plan B. I thought before that they were ok, but seeing him live doing an opening 15 minute
human beatbox was a pleasing sight. And the following music was brilliant.

And if Lilly Allen was the boil on the arse of this festival, then Paloma Faith was the lipstick on
an already gorgeous face. An enticing stage display, cheeky, good sound, playing with the audience,
she should of been headlining.

Masses of other good stuff, the Starburst outside stage, with light up globes, and then later
at night the magical Shh Party
Dj Derek playing some reggae and dancehall classics, aged over 70!!  Smooth and Turell,Massive Attack,
Mixmaster Morris chilling us till 3am on Sunday, the decor and later hip house in the Paradiso arena,
much much more ,and only a couple of dampeners, which is to be expected at a festival which
allowed under 17[s in cheap, but that's Festival Republics idea.
All in all, a festival worth attending.
DON'T BUY THE  SUN.

Glasto tickets are going on sale in a few weeks , but wouldn't mind trying a different festival next year .

Any recommendations on good alternatives ? Heard the Green Man festival is pretty decent !

Green Man is boss but it always always always rains, it's in the middle of a Welsh Valley.
The lineup is very hit and miss though.

It's a very small festival with only 1 real stage and a tent but the atmosphere can't be beaten by any other festival.
