Belle and Sebastian and The National will be there - I am so fucking happy!

National are second stage, other two headliners are Florence and The Machine and Vampire Weekend. Meh.

Been looking at bands playing at the top festivals in Europe this Summer, to try and get a feel for potential Reading announcements.

It looks highly likely that Rammstein, Greenday and any one from Pearl Jam, Them Crooked Vultures, and Pixies.
That is my update.
Thankyou.

Just come in here to see if anyone had heard any Leeds/Reading rumours, would love to see Pearl Jam and The Pixies. Hope they get The Strokes.

I imagine there'll be a big british band as a headliner, wouldn't mind Muse.

Whats it like? Obviously you know what the music is like due to acts announced but wondered if it has a good reputation? Good atmosphere? Friendly people? Decent lager?

I've been a fair few times, the atmosphere is the best of any festival i've been to. Never had any trouble there but then we don't exactly go looking for it. This year will be the first time i've camped though as a friends family have one of them static caravan things on the island so we've just used that. Decided to camp this time as there's a much bigger group of us, so should be a right laugh.
The thing that pissed me off most was having to queue for drink vouchers, then queue for the actual ale! Though i suppose if a few of you chip in in the morning and get enough vouchers for the day that won't be an issue. Can't remember if it was Carling or Tuborg lager though. Not that expensive either, about £3-£3.50 a pint i think which is pretty normal down south anyway.

I am uber psyched - going to see TRAIN on March 5th in London.

My favourite band and I thought I'd have to go to America to see them.

Booked my flight and got my ticket for £40. Bargain of the century!

I'm missing Wireless due to me hollibobs, but 2 days after I get back is Lovebox, so I'll just go to that instead.

Can't stand massive festivals. I went V last year, was absolute shite. I probably spent at least 3/4s of the day in some kind of queue. Far too many people let in.

Just back in from seeing "Introducing" perform DJ Shadow's Endtroducing Live. Note for note, no samples. They were simply awesome!

In case you don't know, Endtroducing was the first album ever made 100% from samples. It sounds like it should be near impossible to recreate live but Introducing are just incredible. If they come to a town near you dive in!

Went to see Imogen Heap last night and what a brilliant performance. I always thought her voice was amazing but her musicality really shines on stage. An amazing musical experience.

Went a couple of years ago when the heavens opened all weekend, but still had a great time. Going again this year, can't wait.

Doves confirmed for Green Man.

They've also been announced as headliners for Kendal Calling festival, so I'm well happy with that. British Sea Power, The Coral and Wild Beasts also at my favourite festival.  ;D

Went to see Florence and The Machine in the Olympia in Dublin on monday night, place only holds just over 1,000 people which made the gig far better than it would have been in somewhere like the O2. Fucking great gig i have to say.

Fantastic Doves gig last night in Wolverhampton.

Few surprises like M62 Song , Catch the Sun and Firesuite but the real highlight was a fantastic sounding Spaceface , the Doves fans in here will know how rare that is.

Quality night!

Went to see The Suffolk Punch Mowers in Stevenage last night. Great band live and Nashan De Varley performed an acoustic version of Death Hemp Sack with Absurd from The Glass Bowling Balls , awesome. If the night wasn't intense enough they finished with an eleven minute version of His Name's Not Trevor for the encore.

Tempted to get tickets this May for either Discriminating Dandelions or Loaf , both on at Bolton University. I believe Baz Quingostrop has left Loaf to join The Water Kerb Gaskets so that should be interesting as I've seen TWKG support No Left Turn and You Killed My Guinea Pig last year where they murdered simultaeously My Clavicle Is Jelly Orange by The Anne Summers Mystery Shoppers.

Wow , check this line up for the Morecombe Festival in July.

Saw Lanegan on the Saturday at the Brudenell Social Club, which is an incredibly intimate venue. I think there's a CD of that show that's been on sale at all the shows since. AMazing show.
By the way, I should tell you that I haven’t had a chance to shower while making my way up here, my balls are extra vinegary.

Good stuff, might see if its online somewhere,he usually puts them on his website but havent checked yet...

sounds like you caught a good show alright! at manchester there were two blue lights for the entire show, real dark and dingy to suit the setlist! the more i think back to it the more awesome it was!!

Gil Scott-Heron was quality too,bit jazzy in parts but still a top show by some ace musicians!

Heard he was touring again, would've loved to have seen that. Can't believe he's still going. Saw him in the 80's/early 90s a few times in Liverpool and Manchester & he looked about 100 then!

His album 'Reflections' is in my all time top ten........nice!

Contains the line "the sweet smell of my lady's love..."  :D (who else could be cool enough to get away with a line like that in a love song!)

He was ace, came out and told jokes for the first 20 mins! then did a few songs on his own with his piano and then brought the rest of the band out. Saw what will probably turn out to be the greatest harmonica player ill ever see that night too! awesome!!

Saw him in the mid 90's and he was poor. Kept going off the stage every 10 minutes for a minute or so, don't know why he didn't just have his cd case and credit card on his keyboard it was so obvious.

Would love to see him on form. Lady Day and John Coltrane is a classic.
