Anyone remember the difference in away shirt in 87/88?
I was telling my lad about the time my dad took me to Jack Sharps nr Williamson Sq for it and that I saw a difference in the Crown Paints logo. I remember pointing out to the lad who worked there that there was two versions Crown Paints in all red and another with white with red outline. Doesn't sound much but as a 11yr old who's mum and dad weren't flush I wanted the right one.
Think Liverpool played in both versions that season. Confusing.

CL polo - one sleeve is the CL logo, one side of the front is the Gold Liverbird, the other is a 6 badge with Madrid under it.

Very classy looking.

at the beginning of the 87-8 season it was white. Arsenal away and West Ham away.

I dont know exactly when but it was then switched to red because it was difficult to make out the sponsor in white on a grey back round.

Yeah, I don't think Crown Paints were happy that the logo couldn't be displayed in a more obvious colour so it got changed. Incidentally, the players were playing with larger Carlsberg logos and letters/numbers on their shirts than the retail ones as it shows up better on television.

in fairness, I kinda wish now I picked up some myself for my LFC box. May just put on a cheeky 99p bid on the assumption that human hair is removed beforehand  .

I actually wish I'd got some myself now. We were at the Strand and then followed the bus up to to end of the parade. At the end there was tons of the stuff on the floor, blowing into big piles in the wind.

Since the final I've bought a half sized replica of Big Ears and have put red and white ribbons on it. With hindsight, it would have been nice to have some of the parade confetti to put inside it as a further reminder of what was a fantastic weekend.
