I know what you mean. I'm forever having to edit posts on here after predictive text messed them up on my phone.

I've sent the odd text to people in the past that didn't quite say what I meant to say. Some rather embarrassing too. Mind you, that should teach me for not reading it through before I send/post.

Anyway, talking about the bow-legged chicken song. I was painting garden walls for two days (around 16 hours in total) last week and that damn song was going around and around in my head for virtually every minute after I posted in this thread.    Honestly, it drove me potty.

Yes it was although our kid told everyone it was his flag. We made in his but he gegged in big time . He was a boss flag maker too as it's in our family's history . He done the Champions League We're Havin Kebabs in 2005 and There are Places We Remember one in 2007 .

My mate is from Lisbon and said it's em not na. If it's anything like French though it's a hard language. Everytime  I ask a French mate how to say something I get a different response from each different person. But if you are learning the Brazilian version of the language I will go with your translation.

I've heard on twitter it's something to do with his son being in the army dunno how true that is. I'd prefer not to see it as its associated with things like rangers, the establishment ect but can't really stop him

I know this is an old post but just happened to see this and Portuguese is my 2nd language. This one reads better, the only thing I would change is to take off the "o" before the rei(king). It would be the equivalent of adding 'the' in the english expression, ie. gramatically correct but redundant.

'Em terra do cegos' reads to me as: At land of blind
where as 'Na terra dos cegos' reads to me as: In the land of the blind

Now I could be wrong, I'm no linguistic expert afterall but Kavah's version is how I would translate it. I could always get a 2nd opinion if you wanted it made. Let me know...

Yeah I don't see the problem with it myself. I'd rather we reclaimed it from the likes of Rangers and Chelsea, and despite Brexit it remains a more inclusive symbol then St Georges Cross, and more in keeping with Liverpool's history (as a club and a city).

I mean a song about a Scouse soldier going off to fight the Nazi's ("for his king and his country") remains one of our best songs, so the Union Jack is hardly a stretch. Most people know what we stand for as a club by now, and it definitely isn't the Rangers/Chelsea/Millwall/Stoke brand of British nationalism and loyalism.

Remember the arl box in the Army and Navy with the flags in. We'd go up and see what was in, always wanted a Red Ensign cause there was more Red on it, but they were as rare as rocking horse shit. Mostly Union Jacks but sometimes you'd get the odd exotic one (probably to go with Shanklyboys Japanese Admiral's get up) remember the musty smell and the little pod thing the staff put the money in, then they'd go flying off in some chute all around the store.

There were loads when I went in the 70s. Mind you, back then you took any flag you could get your hands on so long as it had red on it. I think most of them were nicked off flag poles from all around the city. Well, unless you were posh enough to be able to afford one from the Army and Navy Stores. 😁 They seemed to virtually disappear after the establishment screwed us over Hillsborough, though. Personally, I'd not have one now. Apart from the nationalistic thing which I'm not fond of, I just find them lazy these days. You can easily get hold of a decent LFC flag to fly at the match, and if you want to design and get one made, the flag-making world is your oyster these days.
