STH get priority for all the cups plus always on 0 attendance. They need to even the playing field.
At least leave a very small allocation for a members ballot so we all get a chance to go to an away game...hate all this closed shop business.
This. Kind of a different discussion, but if the club actually did something more than just paying lip service to stopping touting, they’d try a lot harder to ‘reclaim’ the away tickets being sold on and put them in such a ballot to give more supporters a chance at the odd away. (Not talking about the tickets that get passed on to mates here by the way, just those that end up on dodgy websites for silly money)
That way those that have deservedly built up their away credits over the years don’t have any risk of losing out on future games to fans on zero.
I believe United have the odd away ballot - if they can sort it out, with a similar fanbase to ours in terms of numbers, then why can’t we?
Even without a scenario of a ballot with ‘reclaimed’ touted tickets, still wish they’d give members some thought in the rare occasions that an away drops past all those with credits. For example, could they have not done a ballot for STH and members with 19 homes (or even 13+ to bring it in line with a ‘priority’ qualifying members get for home games) for whatever was left of the Southampton tickets?
Appreciate there won’t have been many and the odds are still small for everyone - but at least the chance would be there. (It’s still a slim chance anyway for those STH who logged on to try to buy the other day - such a ballot would save those fans the hassle of having to do that)
As for priority of STH v members, the argument has been done to death I know but it takes a lot of effort (and costs more money) to fight your way to 19 homes. If you then carry on buying all homes as the seasons go on, you effectively become a season ticket holder in all but name but then receive none of the same priorities. Frustrating!
