Cheers- will look forward to that read.
Good and interesting read on Aaron Ramsey. Is there any concern over his injury record? I suppose AOC is a good and bad(unlucky in that it was an impact and not muscle injury) example
Cheers mate.
Maybe. I think Arsenal undertrained under Wenger. It explains so many of the problems that side encountered and why, when a side turned up the pressure on them like us or Bayern, they often would just collapse. They were just physically and mentally ill-prepared for a high-intensity game.
Which means injuries would be a natural consequence of attempting high intensity workout before your body is conditioned for it. Plus, rushing players back from injury so they fall into a perpetual cycle of injuries. We saw it with Sanchez and his hamstrings there - a player who never had such problems in his life - yet at Arsenal he was being rushed back and re-injured.
Ultimately, the people at the club now look like they are very cautious with injuries. We are looking to sign players who are generally in the matchday squad for their sides 95% of the games like Alisson, Keita, Shaq & Fabinho. Fekir we passed because we worried about potential knee problems. If they assess AOC & give him the thumbs up, there is a logical reason they believe he wasn't injury prone and could explain his problems at Arsenal. His injury was a completely freak accident that couldn't be predicted either - so it's something of a misnomer. If they give Ramsey the thumbs up also, there will be a good reason for it too I am sure. And then he can play with Gini ( Sorry, it is the Gini thread, needed to mention him at the end!
)
