Brilliant signing. Young and still got room to grow. Looks good at Swansea.

So if he performs well is there any chance of him signing a perm deal?

Any hints at a buy close? He looks the business, 24 is really young for a CB as well. Welcome lad.

Unfortunately, I watched him (live) for Cardiff's entire season in the PL and trust me, he is not anything like "the business".

He's an LFC player so I love him :)

Seriously, what a chance for him.

He's a lucky boy there is no doubt.

Adrian Durham is gonna have a field day wit this.

Personally I though he was terrible when I saw him play. But LFC is different.  :-[

Pretty much this.

I mean how thick can people be? We're down to bare bones at the back at the minute. I've seen someone say that we'll have 'all our center backs return in like 2 weeks' but how many injuries have they had combined this season already? More injuries will happen - Toure can barely finish a game and Ilori is a long way off match fitness.

Welcome, Steven.

I'm no longer surprised at how thick people can be.

I've got a feeling that Origi is the real deal, from a couple of games I watched but mainly his interviews there seems to be something about him.

To be fair, I think the management will be better positioned than you to know whether an academy lad's worth giving a go to over someone who's no world beater, but has had a Premier League career.
I believe our best academy centre back is injured, and most  academy players don't even go on to have a League Two career, so it's far from a guarantee that one of them will be better than Caulker.
If Paddy McNair can cover at United as he did in the first half of last season, surely we have someone who can. What about Lloyd Jones? Surely we could've recalled him like we did with Ilori and Ward.
Then in the midddle out pops a smiling glen johnson pulling up his jersey to reveal a t-shirt of suarez with a text saying. "OUR SUAREZ IS A FRIEND TO ALL COLOURS!"

I don't care what his past reputation, form, or previous is. He is now a red for the foreseeable future and I hope he absorbs everything he can from the manager. If he does, he will help us win points and could earn himself a permanent move. We have a hole at Centreback and he is going to plug it. Good luck to him.

Well we chose Caulker either you live with it or you don't, and in 6 months time you don't have to worry about it.

Hes not that good.  But its only a 6 month deal and he'll offer adequite cover as a 3rd/4th choice defender I suppose.

Don't see what some people are unhappy about. As other have pointed out it's only a 6 month deal.

Worse case scenario he's shite and gets benched until July once our others are fit. Best case he has a cracker of a season for us and we snap him up for a decent price in July. That or just concede less goals, either way I reckon this is a boss deal and the club have done very well getting it sorted in time for Arsenal.

Hope he takes the chance to either show he should be here on a permanent, or at another decent club getting games. Otherwise, stop-gap short-term loan is stop-gap short-term loan. Just hope he does a job at the minimum.

Welcome!
Can only hope he makes a big impact. Naturally, I want him to do well.

A loan until the end of the season isn't bad, but it's not the solution I wanted. My preference was to go with what we have, or sign a top defender for a long term job.

That was 4 years ago!  ;D

I agree he was promising in BR's Swansea team but since then I'd argue he's regressed.

A better CB option than Enrique. Kolo and Illori also are a bit untested this year. So yeah an understandable signing.

At worst, he plays against Arsenal, the League Cup replay and the FA Cup replay and then becomes a distant memory, confined to the training squad for 4 months.

At best, he wakes up after a few years dozing and goes 'fucking hell, I'm at a good club here - let's give it a go' and becomes a solid 4th choice if Kolo can't be relied upon anymore.

And now he's a Liverpool player, he's got my full support regardless of his previous.

I know he played against us and conceded 6 but he also played in their previous match against Man City and did really well.

If he could produce few similar performances till the injury crisis eases he would have done his job

Enrique and Illori at CB against Arsenal and united, and a 17 year old with no senior games on the bench? Cos thats what we have at the moment.

In a world where everyone is made up that Kolo *might* be fit for the next two games vs Arsenal and United and our other CB options are currently a not 100% Sakho, Lucas, Can or a 45% fit Illori, I would imagine LFC have dug out the "CBs we have scouted" file and had a look down it.

The short list of those available on a short term basis was probably a list of one.

On the basis that he's played there more than once (Lucas) it does make some sense.  No-one is expecting him to set the world on fire but compared to the alternatives with about 24 games for us in the three weeks......I'm not sure what else the club could do.
