It's on Netflix in the states. I read the blurb and thought that this looks a terrible premise and thought I would put it on for background.

I found it absolutely delightful and beautiful.  Really taken aback at how amazing it is. Watched all six in one weekend.

Love the theme song too.

Disappointing to be honest.

Hot on the heels of the Luther disappointment.

Yet, to watch the last episode of Peep Show, but it could be a triple whammy.

Me too, felt a bit thrown together, I guess the beauty of the series is that its somewhat of a slow burner, this felt a bit rushed. an hour would have been better as it would have enabled a slower pace.

Lack of an antagonist too (like the brilliant Simon and Garfunkel) left no natural conflict

i absolutely loved it - felt like a proper 'special' without having to be covered in tinsel, instead going for the dickensian spooky side of xmas.  very different to the standard episodes (the urban scenes are very jarring for this show), but still retained everything that makes it so unique.

and there was an antagonist...

it would be a fitting last ever episode too (obviously hope it isn't).

Would be anything but fitting, Lance and Andy's relationship was beautiful and was core to the entire show. The special was all about Lance, Andy barely featured.

You know, I can understand that although I enjoyed it - Russell was class and the potential romance between Lance and Toni was so sweetly done that it more than made up for anything that I didn't enjoy much about the episode, which wasn't all that much anyway.

not really - it gave both main characters a positive send-off, and core to the episode as ever was the interaction between lance and andy.  obviously andy couldn't have his own story as his family were absent, so it was a bit unbalanced in lance's favour - but it still worked as the interactions were still there, it still ended on a classic lance/andy moment etc.  one of the best xmas specials/(potentially) final episodes of anything since 'extras'.

Late to the party.

Something about the relaxing, nostalgic nature of the series, the lovable characters (apart from the main 2 ones big shout out to Russell and Terry) , the beautiful and peaceful scenery, the majestic OST, combined with some subtle but deep meaning scenes and the fact its dead funny* at times makes me want more and more.

I love it so much and from what it seems there won't be another series :(

* Christ, I was in stitches when Andy tries to give Becky back the photo with the kiss and the latter's reaction.

Thinking about a scene in tonights episode.

my brother works for a construction company in Somerset he once told me they are always finding old ruins and ancient sites and they just bulldozer them so it doesn't hold up work it broke my heart how can you even think of doing that.
