I'm not quite finished series 3 so giving this a miss for now.  Just checked lovefilm though for their release date and they have it down for 25th March so I imagine BBC4 will have double bills every Saturday then the same way they did with the last series of The Killing

Love this series. Judge Roban is awesome.

But the series is brilliant from top to bottom, and Audrey Fleurot who plays Josephine Karlsson is gorgeous. But it amazes me on how many absolutely terrible decisions she makes every series lol.

Building up to be another cracking series - really is up there with The Wire in my opinion

She's a damaged character (as they all are to be fair) whose motivation is the abuse she got from her father and the police's complicity in allowing it to happen. She's not driven by a desire for fairness or justice, but a hatred of the justice system and the police.

I know what you're saying. Like the Wire, most of the characters are a bit flawed (some a lot flawed) and the good guys seem to bend the rules just as much as the bad guys to suit their own ends. A definite blurring at the edges of what's right and what's wrong. It's superb entertainment.

and of course there's Laure Berthaud. Hard as nails but vulnerable at the same time. What a character.

Echo the praise, it really is a top series. Karlsson never fails to annoy me for some reason though I recognise she is a great character. Braquo and Spiral show the French can do it, Borgen, etc from Scandanavia and us??

Spring probably.

I think it'll be part of the new seasons premieres.

Spoiler
hunky Pierre has popped his clogs (hang on, it's not a Dutch show, what shoes do French people wear in their stereotype? :P).

I want to know why Roban has been so off the boil this season, he's making awful calls all the time, it's basically his fault Pierre got got - is it the nosebleeds, does anyone else think he's got some kind of brain tumour?

Also - Laure's baby - will it survive or will she keep getting herself punched in the gut? She seems to be warming to it a bit...

Sabots...

:) thanks for clearing that one up.

"Sabots were in the 16th to 19th centuries, associated with the lower classes. During this period, the years of the Industrial Revolution, the word sabotage gained currency. Allegedly derived from sabot, sabotage described the actions of disgruntled workers who willfully damaged workplace machinery by throwing their sabots into the works. However, according to some accounts, sabot-clad workers were simply considered less productive than others who had switched to leather shoes, roughly equating the term "sabotage" with "inefficiency"

That's a brilliant little thing to have learned today. RAWK never disappoints...
