My first game was April 1984 when I was ten, v West Ham, 6-0, awesome! Big Crown Paints tin in the centre circle, amazing team and that was me hooked despite being a Dundee Utd fan. We also nearly met in the European Cup final in the same year if it wasn't for those cheating Roma bastards!! Was so glad to see the 'pool beat them it just sealed the deal for me!

Do any of you guys have Dundee Utd as your fav Scottish team!!!!!?

You, me, and Dundeered are Arabs  ;D

Emlyn Hughes Testimonial v Borussia Moenchengladbach, 1979, and I got to visit the trophy room afterwards to lift the League and European Cup. Dad sold the club scratchcards in his shop and got invited to a game + 1 complimentary, to pick up his agents prize (hitachi clock radio(. Only game I ever went with him too as he wasn't a footy fan. First game I remember is the cup final against Newcastle in 1974, watched on a black and white telly. Did a backward roll when we scored the third :-)

Crystal Palace at Selhurst.  Lost 1-0 (Cant remember the year but we had the legends Piechnik and Kozma playing).  The next game after that was Fulham in the League Cup, saw Gods first ever goal for us.  Awesome night and we chanted Fowler off the pitch at the end.

I was at both of them, the Palace one was possibly 1991/2 season, the Fulham one was September 1993. Remember standing on the open terrace at Fulham in one of the worst hailstorms ever!

There are some threads that really get the memory juices flowing.
That roll back the years, and leave you again a wide-eyed boy seeing sights that would become so familiar for the first time.
Jesus, some threads just about have you in tears.

Not this one though, this one just makes me feel fucking old.

I was six at the time and it was a home game in 1975 against Carlisle Utd.  Remember Toshack and Keegan scored. We won 2-0. We were in the Kemlyn. I can still to this day smell the grass, the sweat, the aroma of the meat pies, the whirl of tobacco and the stale smell of cheap ale. Wonderful. Didn’t go again for about another six years. You always remember your first though.

Carlisle were relegated that season, I believe, never to return.

I concur this thread makes me feel fucking old too.

I went to that game, I had a mate who was a Spurs fan - he'd been seduced by Ricky Villa, Ozzy Ardilles and Glen Hoddle.
We were 14, and he was stood facing the kop screaming "have some of that you scouse bastards".
It was such a rarity us getting beat at Anfield everyone laughed....

Newcastle on December 28th 1998. Came back from two goals down to win 4-2 thanks to Owen and Riedle. Front row of the Kop too, was an alright start!

16th April 1974.

Liverpool 4 Manchester City 0.

Night match. Stood in the Anny Road end, 4-0 up at half-time, didn't see one of them because I was too small and they were scored at the Kop end!
Remember there were a few City fans standing next to us, can't have been any segregation, and they were saying they wanted Liverpool to score again in the 2nd half because they didn't want a goal-less end!
George played Baby Love by the Supremes and Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks at half-time. I can remember it all better than most matches from last season.
 Just magical memories.

Liverpool 1-0 Leeds United, 16th March 1974. Steve Heighway scored in the 82nd minute and the Kop went mental. I don't remember the goal just the mayhem that followed. The attendance - 56,003 - is etched on my memory more than anything else - don't know why.

Screen Sports Super Cup semi final v Norwich - 06/05/86 - won 3-1

I can't remember anything about the game. I do remember walking up the steps at the back of The Kop and then looking out on to the pitch for the very first time and being gob-smacked by the view, it was an unbelievable feeling.

Liverpool 0-0 Rapid Bucharest Uefa Cup 1st round I think ( not sure hoe it was formatted back then!)

I was a jinx back then. Took me about a dozen games to see us score a goal. Michael Owen against Derby at the Kop End. We didn't even win, though!

Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool FA CUP 3RD Round 1986

It was actually the 4th round we beat Chelsea. Beat Norwich 5-0 at Anfield in the 3rd round when we played with an orange ball on a snow covered pitch.

My 1st game was a European Cup 1/4 final 2nd leg v Widzew Lodz of Poland in March 1983. Remember the atmosphere was fantastic. Won 3-2, but lost 4-3 on aggregate. My stand out memory of that night was the Lodz team being applauded at the end and walking down to the Kop to return the applause.

First ever match was the Reserves v Man Utd, 96/97, sat in the Anfield Road End. 10,000 people there. I think England were playing that weekend and there were quite a few first team players on show.

First 1st team game was v SK Brann, Cup Winners' Cup Quarter Final 2nd leg, 96/97. Kop, won 3-0. Awesome.

Liverpool 3 Chelsea 2 - FA Cup Tie - early part of 1962. Terry DeNiro sent me the link as I'd always wanted to know who scored the first LFC goal I ever witnessed in person. It was Ian St John and that was a hell of a long time ago.
