Quick question for people who use Ebay often - Is ending an auction early ( after receiving a decent offer ) acceptable or twattish behaviour ?

Have something on for sale at the moment ( been on less than 10 hours ) and have had 2 requests asking what price I would accept to end the auction early .

Not sold lots on Ebay , but the last item I did sell i ended the auction early . A previous time . I was asked to , but didn't , and lost a fair bit of money because I didn't !

It's not wrong to do that and there are plenty of ads I've seen where the user says "it's advertised elsewhere, so it may come off"

Do you have any bids on it already? Are those bids form the people that you're mentioning above or different?

Can't access Ebay in work , so no idea if any bids as yet .

Neither have mentioned a price yet , looking for me to give an indication .I've got a good idea of what the item will sell for , so if if they're going to be cheeky twats they'll be disappointed .

What are you selling?

Beer chiller unit etc for beer kegs ( home bar equipment ) - pretty specialist stuff really , but always seems to sell well on Ebay .

I wouldn't think twice about pulling an auction, but ask them for a price rather than you giving them 1. You're happy for the auction to run, it's up to them to tempt you away!

I wouldn't hesitate in ending it.

If it's a highish value item I sometimes set a reserve, and put that once reserve is met I won't end it, this gives people confidence to bid.

I never end an auction before the money is in my hand.

At the end of the day you have a price, ending also saves you a FVF as well.

But beware, you can't end an auction when there's less than 12 hours left I think, so don't leave it too late !!!
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Selling these if anyone's interested, any cash is going to the HJC. Won them, but can't get the time off work to go.

At 24 using £400 i started my own clothes business...
just out of curiosity mate, how exactly did you do this? What kind of clothes did you sell and how did you get it in the first place?

Genuine question, I was always interested in starting a small business and how people actually do it.

I'm selling some stuff on eBay for anyone interested.

Looks like you're doing well there mate. I didn't think there'd be much interest in a Botswana Away shirt!

Where did you buy them in the first place?

Does anyone have experience with either esources.co.uk or wholesaledeals.co.uk.

They charge a fee for access to their directory of wholesale suppliers/ products. There is so much conflicting information on the internet about them on various forums related to dropshipping and ebay, but I was wondering if someone on here had first hand experience?

The frames are plastic/vinyl mate....if you live anywhere near Chester though, at this rate you could have all 5 of them for a fiver lol!

They probably cost me over a ton to put together, I just don't have anywhere to hang them in my new gaff!

Nah am down south mate, my missus is a graphic designer and she likes stuff like that (and the movie) but it would probably be costly to post.

It'd probably be more a pain in the ass rather than too expensive.

Dunno if there's any like car boots near you mate but I reckon you'd sell those quite easily in a market selling especially if they were priced reasonably.

The problem is when you do collection only, you're really limiting your market.... most people on ebay don't live in your region.
Other people will pay the postage so you shouldn't lose any money.

Sold some boots on Ebay and buyer was happy, left positive feedback etc. Buyer now says part of the boots have started to come away (fine when I sold them, they were brand new) and is asking for a refund. Where do I stand here? It's been 2 weeks since the sale but I don't want to take broken goods back and have to issue a refund.
