Just a quick question..

If you had to bet the entire winnings from this bet, no withdrawing at all, how high would your balance get before you bottled it?

I couldnt go any higher than 3k, but after about £500 I'd be shitting myself if the bet was tight.

keep this one for that then?

i'd rather do a personal one but i'd join in a group one if there was enough and we all had reasoned debate and agreed on a bet to take.
Yep,this one for individual heroics, the other one for group hugs after we get the grand as a collective.

Whatever.
I think the message that is trying to be put across here is that this thread
was derailed early on,knocked off it's intended course.
Why? Because bets weren't discussed, users posted their own challenges in the thread, and
the ways of the challenge weren't properly set out.
So a new one is required.

Now that is a bet i'd back. Valencia at home are formidable, and to match that confidence
Madrids away form is rocky to be polite.
So at 4/5 that would be a value bet,and one i'd be confident of putting into the mix.

6/5 seems decent value for a well rested fulham side.

Will do me..
Bet 1) €10 on Fulham win @ 6/5 returned - €22

2nd bet is:

Overs in MVV v Camburr & Volendam v Eindhoven
Simple enough Volendam v eindhoven is a meeting of the two highest average goalscorers in the league both average 3.94 goals a game.MVV are 6th on that list(3.45 a game) and face the 3rd side on that list camburr(3.72) who scored 8 last week.

€22 @ just over evens returns €54.21

Edit: Just realised it dosnt return €54 it returns €51 ::)

Interesting concept.

But it seems really difficult. I'd suggest having an enclosed circle, say 10 people you were happy with adding bets, analysis and suggestions and then a vote where the bet would only go ahead if all 10 agreed on it. Eg. 9 agreed and 1 said no then you wouldn't do the bet. Sort of like a masonic vote.

I don't know though, it may be too different to the original idea. Just a suggestion.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

That is a pretty good idea actually..It would make it alot better as i feel this will probably just turn into the bets thread as in just aload of people putting in random bets(even with background). That can be done in the actual bets thread? It should either be done that way i think or just a simple Bet 1), bet 2) and so forth.because in all fairness if a bet is decent value at evens odds are its probably going to be discussed in the bets thread anyway?

You're leaving people out then, though. The £10-£1000 works fine on the Rattle. Someone posts a suggestion, people agree on it, join in and follow each other up the ladder.

Gonna give this a go on me own

Starting with Blackburn @ 2.2

Heres the list of absentees for Portsmouth from BBC

Portsmouth
Doubtful: James (calf), Rocha (cheek), Smith (nose), Utaka (groin)
Injured\unavailable: Belhadj (hamstring), Ben Haim (groin), Boateng, Diop, Yebda & Webber (all knee), Dindane (contractual), Hreidarsson (Achilles), Wilson (hamstring)

O'Hara does return but the back line for Pompey will be poor(er) with no Hreidarsson, Wilson, Ben Haim, Belhadj and possibly Rocha and with Ashdown in goal there will little experience in the back line and I can see a Blackburn win and nothing else.

Blackburn have a full squad to choose from bar Andrews.

I've taken the plunge and gone with Luton to win to nil today @ 10/11. Sadly that price was yesterday's and it's now been trimmed to 4/6 so far too short for this challenge but I saw the price yesterday and took it.

Luton are on an 8 game winning run which has seen them get into the title picture in the BSP and although only 4 of those wins have seen clean sheets, their last 3 have seen them not concede. Couple that with Grays inability to score (they've failed to score in 10 of their last 15 games) and the fact that they're missing their top scorer today through injury it should mean that it'll be another poor performance in front of goal by the relegated side. My only concern was now that Grays have been relegated they might play with more freedom but I'm going to take the risk and back Luton to win to nil @ 10/11.
If you're reading this signature as a result of reading a post of mine in 'The Bets Thread', then please ignore the aforementioned post as I'm likely to be spouting bollocks and if you follow me, you'll lose money. Thank You.

Today lads i reckon i have found a very good away bet ,11/8 too, in the Belgium league.
It doesn't kick off until mthis evening, so plenty of time for onions.
GENT  to win at Zulte-Waregem.

BET 1 - IN.

Today's bet, £23.75 placed on Inverness to beat Morton, @ 5/6 with Hills.

Both teams fighting for opposite reasons, a home win would help Morton creep away from the relegation play-off place,
even though they still have the stress of having played 2 or 3 more games than their rivals.
A win for top placed Inverness would put them 7 points clear, with only 4 games to go.

Morton at home lost as many as they've won/drew, while conceding more than they have banged in.
Inverness away have only lost twice all season, and out of 15 games have only let 11 go past them.

I've got a suggestion for you all that pays at a shade over 10/11, the downside however is that it is with BetFred and I know a lot of people don't bet with him.

Anyway it's a double in the Darts tomorrow consisting of Adrian Lewis v James Wade to have 7 or more 180s in their match and Phil Taylor to beat Raymond van Barneveld.

The first part of the double - Lewis and Wade have hit between them 55 180s in the opening half of the Premier League and I expect plenty again between the pair tomorrow. If you take the mythical match-up between the pair for the season, they've only failed to cover this line once and that was in Manchester where Lewis put in a dismal performance and only brought 2 180s to the table. Their match against one another first time round saw them share 9 180s in a 7-7 draw and I would expect a similar amount once more and they should cover this rather low line with relative ease.

The second part - Taylor's Taylor and I'm not going to bore you with details of how good he is. Taylor's won 16 of the last 17 meetings against Barney and he has something of a hold over him. Barney's had one breathtaking performance so far in the Premier League (a 107 average) and aside a performance against Lewis where he hardly got a look in and managed to average 99 (inflated by the fact that he didn't get many chances to miss doubles), the rest have been awful by anyone's standard and I can't forsee any improvement against someone who batters him with regularity. Taylor will not throw multiple legs of 16 darts or more and Barney simply won't throw enough legs of 15 darts or less to make this a contest.

It pays 1.92 and I personally think it's a very strong bet to kick-start this challenge though it will mean that we'll have to find something further down the line that is over 'evens' in order to keep  on course.

I've taken the plunge and gone with Luton to win to nil today @ 10/11. Sadly that price was yesterday's and it's now been trimmed to 4/6 so far too short for this challenge but I saw the price yesterday and took it.

My only concern was now that Grays have been relegated they might play with more freedom but I'm going to take the risk and back Luton to win to nil @ 10/11.

2 steps down.

Third step sees me venture into the IPL and in today's match between Chennai & Mumbai, I shall be backing 14 or more 6's to be scored @ 10/11.

These two teams score runs for fun and Chennai concede a lot of runs as well so I'm expecting a run-fest. When either of these two sides have batted first, their combined average is 190 so it's likely that a big total will be posted. There's an exceptional amount of power on show so I'm expecting a lot of big hitting and seeing as this ground saw 30 6's in its last match, I'm expecting plenty more this time round.

Game over.

Dhoni and Hayden going in successive balls killed any chance that bet had.

I can't see Mumbai getting 12 6's somehow.
