Thank you to Utd fans for putting our rivalry aside and your posts of support on Red Cafe.

Same goes for the majority of Man City supporters on the Blue Moon forum - thanks .

Was wondering if they would do anything in their game tomorrow, and if so I was also wondering how many of those taking part would be back to singing their 'victims' and 'the sun was right' songsongs next week. Large part I guarantee.

Yep. Blue moon is the only one I decided to have a read through and there are some excellent posters and posts on their thread. I'll add my thanks to them. There's some real solidarity amongst proper footy fans out there now.

I've cried many times this week, but the Newcastle and Everton tributes really set me off again.

Newcastle - It's great to know Rafa is in safe hands, a spontaneous gesture from your fans that shows you're as similar to us as people always say you are.

Everton - You stood by us for 27 years when everybody else doubted us. I don't think you'll ever really know what it meant to us. This is as much a victory for you as it is for us.

Thank you.

Ipswich and MK Dons fans sing #YNWA before their game at Portman Road today :

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/2tj9iI_66VM" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/2tj9iI_66VM</a>

Was there  - it was introduced as an appreciation to the families and campaigners for their 27 year struggle to get justice.   And people literally stood up and started applauding all the way through.   (Singing was a bit cr*p - but we are Suffolk folk - not the most expressive!)

Nothing from the mancs today. I'm sure the club wanted to but it says it all when they probably can't trust a large section of their knobhead fans not to be twats. Pathetic really.

Didn't know where to post this but fair play to the Sutton United fans:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/feb/17/sutton-united-fa-cup-sponsorship-the-sun

Sutton United have denied accusations they have censored a group of supporters from a club forum after they voiced their opposition to the Sun’s sponsorship of the National League side’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal on Monday night.

Earlier this week, Sutton announced a deal with the Sun that is understood to be worth a five-figure payment that will see Sun Bets replace their usual sponsor, Green Go Waste, for the historic match against Arsène Wenger’s side at Gander Green Lane.

It was greeted with scepticism by some supporters after the agreement came within days of Liverpool’s decision to ban the newspaper from Anfield and their Melwood training ground over its notorious coverage of the Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool supporters were unlawfully killed.

According to one supporter who wished to remain anonymous, “there was an immediate outpouring of concern on the SUFC forum” – an independent site run by fans that is also accessible via the club’s website.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Thank you to Utd fans for putting our rivalry aside and your posts of support on Red Cafe.

I post on redcafe.

There is some top lads on there , especially regarding Hillsborough. Some of them post the facts and pull up the uneducated. I pulled up one a few weeks ago . He wasnt a bellend he was just ignorant. I posted the How the Truth was buried. He apologised and I told him to just educate people. He said he would. I got a few PMs too.

All is good and I feel its my duty to post on there and educate people.

Last year on the 26th one lad was asking Kenny to be given a knightood. I kid you not .

28 years since that awful crime. The 96 that never came home from a football match. They will never be forgotten RIP.

My daughter posted this on FB:

28 years ago today, 96 men, women and children lost their lives whilst watching the game that they loved. I'm Man United, through and through but today, Liverpool, my thoughts are with you. You'll never walk alone and we will never forget. God bless you all. Xxx

There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat nor any conceit in victory. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with skill, courage, fair play,no favour and the result accepted without bitterness. Sir Matt Busby CBE KCSG 1909-1994

Rangers are travelling down to Sheffield on Sunday for a friendly and our supporters club has purchased a wreath to lay down at Hillsborough.

Our disaster in 1971 saw 66 fans die and it is still a painful memory for our support.

Although it's not much, I thought it would be something nice to do for the 96.

I'm trying to attach a picture but a bit of a struggle,  its on our twitter @GreenockBLRSC

A poem from my girlfriend who is a die hard Middlesbrough fan

The great old game of football, has seen many grown men cry.
But never before, have we had to ask, the simple question WHY?

You leave your house so full of hope, and pray your team will win.
A draw is not an option, defeat is nothing but a sin.

But never before, has every fan, sent prayers to the same team.
Never before has a football fan, had to see the things they’ve seen.

They left their homes, they left their kin, their reds scarves waving high.
But no one knew the pain to come, no chance to say goodbye.

So let people say it’s just a game, and in retrospect it is.
But nothing unites a family, more than a tragedy like this.

So the KOP may sound much quieter, as the 96 are gone.
But the football family joins you, as we help you sing your song.

So Liverpool remember, our thoughts aren’t just a season loan.
From a football fan in Middlesbrough
