Or we sell to get in some extra funds.
Do we have a replacement in our reserves good enough for understudy to Ali?

Harvey Davis looks like he's come on quiet nicely over the last year or so. Would be interesting to see what he could do with a loan in January as he won't get the cup games now that Kelleher is back from injury.

You’re essentially saying he’s the best goalkeeper in the world. Maybe second best depending on how you rate Courtois.

I like Kelleher. Good lad. But he absolutely isn't on the same planet as Ali - and that's no disgrace.

Ali is the best keeper at 1-1s I have ever seen consistently. In a 1-1, you know you've got a massive chance of not conceeding. That's priceless.

Cool, sell him for over £120 million as Ali must be worth around that and is our 2nd best keeper.

What a great lad. Could’ve made a better attempt to stop the penalty though. Rooted to the spot.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Couldn't predict that Allison would throw in a performance like that of course.

But crazy that a young talented keeper like Kelleher only gets the League Cup. If Adrian was backup, fair enough. But makes no sense for the FA Cup, especially considering all the WC games and distraction that Allison had to deal with too.

Not sure if that was directed at me, but I have no interest in doing that.
He is 24 so should be playing first team football, so unless Ali moves on it will be elsewhere.

That’s what it looks like seen as we’re out of the league cup and I think most people would have liked to have seen him play tonight. If he had we probably win, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!!

That’s not gonna suddenly make him want to leave…just doesn’t make a huge amount of sense that we’ve got this great number two goalie, no EFL Cup games, he played in the early FA Cup games last season…but now he’s not playing. And as great as Ali is, best in the world, it then doesn’t look amazing when he looks a little bit lax and makes an error leading directly to a goal which looked pretty careless. Just seems like a lot of muddled, odd thinking right now.

I don't think it's an inferiority complex, just being realistic. He's good enough to be first choice somewhere and at some point he'll want to leave.
It'll be interesting seeing what happens in the next few windows, but it looks like Adrian is leaving so we'll no doubt bring in another keeper this summer and if they can have homegrown status then hopefully we can loan out Kelleher for first team footy rather than sell him.

What makes you think he's happy to be number two and sitting on the bench all season? Doesn't sound like much of a career to me, regardless of which club you're at.

Whether we keep him or not is ultimately down to Kelleher's own ambitions. I don't think we stand in his way if he decides he wants to go be a #1 keeper somewhere.

Yeah, and keepers who are warming the bench in their mid-20s tend to be doing the same a decade later (Emi Martinez being the rare exception). I know he isn't because he's a top talent who's played fewer than 20 first team games his entire career and will probably play a total of two this year. There isn't a professional footballer in the game who'd be happy with that.
