I agree with this but only if they’d made that clear at each games ticket details. They did the apposite
They’ve created a problem by not really considering what could happen, looking at the league cup this year was probably what should be done across all competitions.

Be interesting to see what they do.

UEFA are even trying to give free tickets to those who went to the games in spite of everything else. Be bizarre if the club actually prevented the people who have been to the away games from going to the final, let alone not getting the free tickets.

100%. If anything, it showed how accessible away tickets could actually be if they sorted out the credit hunting.
correct, PTS based system is needed

I fully expect them to not count Villarreal for credits and use 19/20 aways to help with the guaranteed sale.

They won't go back on what they said and most from 19/20 have bought anyway

those lucky enough to have go tickets this season, look at it this way you probably wouldn't have got near them in a normal season

If most from 19/20 have bought anyway what is the issue for not including this season as well? Just because it was put on a a few selling notices that they wouldn't count them? It also said it'd be reviewed on a game-by-game basis which is what this would be. Not exactly sure who it would be complaining if one game from both seasons are guaranteed. If both were sorted whats the issue?

Would be better if they used credits going back years. Have full European home credits and a few aways from europa league days but could be in the same ballot as someone who went 6 games this year.

How?

there were travel restrictions all over the place and driving in your own car to Preston etc is a bit different to getting on planes for hours at a time

they made it really, really clear right from the start

You cant just say one thing all season and then change it to say away credit count for the final. If they used 18/19 away credits id be guaranteed but id understand why people would be fuming if they did.

Bizarre how, seriously... the club have been clear from the start, why is this so difficult.  It would be bizarre if they suddenly just changed their mind now

Why fume?  if they hadnt said anything all year then yes, but they have been really really clear on all this so i don't see how people can moan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because they still could've counted them for future rounds and not next year like domestic aways

so forcing people to travel when they don't feel comfortable doing so?

Would this change much? The current people with loads of aways would still get priority, points would be no different to credits.

I disagree, 14 year old me living in northern Ireland was hardly going to Europa games, using current seasons or going back 1 season is fine but we can't prevent people from a chance a tickets cause they didn't go in 2012

I think it would allow people to miss a game or too here and there but in reality you should only get credit if you travel yourself

all for it mate but those who hold influence in fan groups are the ones who are against it because they can pick and choose what they go to at the moment, guy I sat beside in the Kop last week "only goes to 9/10 aways a season" but of course he has full credits, playing the system right but it's not really fair

A points system could be worse.
Imagine a league cup final ticket was based on points and somebody went to all the cups as that’s what they can afford, then you have someone not assed about the cup and only go the league games. But come to cup final day they have acquired more points than someone who’s been all the cups just by going the league games…
Not really fair and hopefully we never use it.

Unless there is an electronic solution which feels unlikely, that means full ticket collections for all Euro aways? That will be popular.

Going forward they could change it tho i dont mean people who went europa years ago Get a head start i mean start fresh from next season. If you go all home Cup games and league games you should get priority alot of clubs do it like that.

And there would be no problem if that happened but it didn’t. So rightfully people who did make the effort this year should be rewarded first.

All on the club for not planning ahead.

Try telling that to those who stood in queues at the ticket office at awkward times in the pissing rain to try and get tickets. It's well easier getting tickets now it's all online but when you had to queue at the office and be alert for last min sales to build your credits it was a fucking nightmare.

Ridiculous thing to say, they did by saying games wouldnt count

Those people who made the effort would not have had the chance otherwise.

it is not easier to get tickets now, 1:17 ballot chance for Leeds, and that will only go up next season too. Just cause it's all online does not make it easier, the demand is obviously massive now too

Exactly - but, it seems some on here seem to be ignoring the fact that there has been a worldwide health crisis for the last 2 years and yet that counts for nothing  ::)

I know of two long standing euro away lads died of Covid......RIP

The club were right to word the notices as they did.

Depends how you do it Rather than just going on overall points they could work it so if you never went any cup games that year you dont qualify for a ticket for that competition. But people who go to all games should get abit of priority.

I agree the aways need sorting out so only the person who goes gets the credit.
