Great write up on a truly great player. Liverpool legend whose dribbling ability & decision making in the final third were exceptional. I wish we had him here now
Hmm, I'd be interested to see if others feel he's in that category. I'm not so sure.

Often its something that isn't just opinion, its heartfelt.

Grew up loving the lad, the reason I watched Liverpool. But the way he left still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Apparently he didn't leave for money either?

Yeah, defo didn't build up enough to be considered a legend after how he left.

Fucking class player though was shaggy
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Loved Macca. Tried to be him when playing football.

One of my earliest memories was his goal against Alania Vladikavkaz.  Scored from an extremely tight angle in terrible conditions.

He deserved to play in a better team than he did...

Didn't Redknapp score a belter in that game too?
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Yeah, smashed in a 30 yarder.  Played in our green and white quarters I think?

Game was on BBC 2 at about 4.30pm.  Proper old school.

David James forgot that he had arms on their goal too.  ;D

Still up there as the best winger we've had in the last 25 years at least.  Great, great player.  Loved watching him glide past defenders.

Couldnt take to McMoneymad to be honest. Might be due to the fact I met him twice and he was an utterly contemptuous prick on both occasions.

Didn't like the way he left and his comments about supporting Everton (his first love) once 'Growler' left. Never a legend in my eyes

As a pundit I'm not sure I've seen many so far up themselves than him.
A Great man once said...
"Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass.
It is terribly simple."
