At Bootle FC, for the time being. They're still looking for a site in the city itself, I think.

Redshite conspiracy obviously.

Funny that being 14 years older than ourselves, they had plenty of chances to rename their club after the name of the City before we were even founded. Our fault like.  Just like we wouldn't of even existed if only they'd agreed to pay the increase in rent. Again, our fault.

Not particularly true.

Of the Executive Committee, the Club Secretary is an Everton Season Ticket Holder, as is the Commercial Director.

Of the wider Interim Board, a further three are Everton supporters. Making it about 50% each for Red and Blue. There's also people with no Premier League allegiances involved in other aspects of the club.

There may be some who can't get their heads past the name of the city, but they wouldn't want to support anybody but Everton anyway. Which is fair enough, just like Reds who don't want to back a local non-league team that isn't LFC related.

I wish this venture well and will try to get down to Vesty Road for the odd game and totally get how pissed off people are at what the game has become but a serious question, surely the more 'success' that the club has the more problems come up in terms of pressure to run the club to jump up the leauges rather than for the fans.  FC United seem to have a similar problem at the moment, between those who want it run more business like, to get money to attract better players and jump up the leauges and some of the original people who's motivation is to have a good laugh at the game. Even from kids teams you can see similar pressures. My mate ran a team for a few years and ended giving it up because his idea was it was run so the kids could get off the street and have a laugh, but the better they got the more pressures led to narks and falling outs. At first it was academys taking their best players which he was alright with as the kids were made up but then it became other teams trying to poach players and disagreements about why he was giving 'lesser' kids games just because they lived around his original area etc.

I'd love fan ownership and can see that starting again gives fans an oportunity and wish the club well in the shark infested waters, i'm certainly not trying to knock the project and really hope it works out but I was quite dissapointed to see the shite FC United seem to be embroiled in because even though their Mancs their intentions were good but it did seem like these pressures between fan interests and the quest to get up the leauges makes it a hard trick to get right

We've already benefitted from a lot of FCUM's experiences. While it's a bit depressing to see what's going on there now, we'll try to take the lessons on board. Perhaps the biggest thing we learned from speaking to FCUM was the importance of not tying the new club to the culture and traditions of Liverpool, Everton or some hybrid of both. FCUM is like nothing Man United ever was or aspires to be, yet they are effectively restricting their reach to Man United supporters. We couldn't see the point in that. The new club isn't for supporters of a particular club, but supporters of a particular ethos.

Also, while they might be the poster boys of supporter ownership, we are also following the model adopted by the likes of AFC Wimbledon and Chester.

That's good to know, suprisingly for a lpool fan I was quite sorry to see them in so much trouble because like a lot of us we could empathise with why they were set up,

Hopefully things work out well and we have a working example of fan ownership in the city, it's a big step and I imagine a lot of hard work I wish you well with it.

Nice to see a successful start. What are the crowds like at the minute?

One issue I have though is I thought this club was supposed to be within the city boundaries?

Surely basing it in Sefton there's a chance of taking away fans from Bootle/Marine?

You'll be hard pressed to find a ground that has the facilities needed to play in the league they're in within the city limits

There are two...

Hopefully they can find a suitable site. Has anyone considered sharing/developing Jericho Lane with South Liverpool FC? (I know COLFC like to pretend SLFC doesn't exist, but I don't know why?)

But I thought the big thing about it was being within the city boundaries?

Maybe I'm missing the point but as others have said there's South Liverpool within the city and if it wasn't going to be in the city surely it'd be better to support the likes of Bootle and Marine and help raise their attendances?
