Audi #2 is 6 to 7 sec faster than Webber per lap. The Audi is a lap down on the Porsche but at this rate will catch him.

Bruno just took 2 sec out of Bruni in 1 lap, he's now around 5 sec of the lead of GTE pro class.

what happened to the "lead" Toyota? I missed it by being weak and sleeping?

Audi #2 has 2:35 gap to the Porsche and is lapping 6 seconds a lap faster.

Audi#2 has a problem, abnormal tire wear.... so Porsche have a real good shot at winning this. Just gotta increase their lap times by a 2-3 seconds.

EDIT: I feel bad for Tom Kristensen to be honest

Hardluck for porsche and webber, you knew it wasn't healthy and something was going to happen when the sister porsche that was 4 laps back was lapping around 5-6 secs a lap quicker.

Usual Webber luck. I was expecting his car to crash on lap 1 or conk out at about 1:59pm.

In the event he got to the 23rd hour. Standard.

They got the #14 out for a final lap but it hasn't been counted as a race finisher, so neither Porsche finished. I reckon they still did well for their first year back.

Audi are just being Audi. 1-2 for them

What a race! Probably the most entertaining Le Mans I've watched.

Shame Audi 1 got problems with the turbo and had to pit would have been some story if they would have
one it.

1 year is just too long...
it comes down to reality, and it's fine with me cause I've let it slide...

Really enjoy this each year. Must make the effort to go to the Silverstone 6hr race next year. Much better value than the F1.

I've got a 5 month old lad and Le Mans is one of the things I've already got in mind for a trip for us in years to come.

The 2014 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is now in the history books, and already rumors are swirling about the future of the event. After winning the GTE Pro Class at the weekend, the latest buzz is that Ferrari might be planning a return to the top class at Le Mans. Even more intriguing is the suggestion that the legendary team would leave Formula 1 to mount the full-on attack.

In a Wall Street Journal report, Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo has voiced his displeasure with the current state of F1 and talked about the potential of sports car racing. The presence of Fernando Alonso as the starter at Le Mans this weekend hasn’t helped to dispel the rumors either.

While there’s no official word on the company’s future racing plans or whether they would actually leave the F1 grid – this move would certainly shake up the motorsport world in a big way.

So tell us, would you like to see Ferrari competing with Porsche and Audi at Le Mans, or should the legendary red cars stay in Formula 1 forever?

They pulled the same trick in the 90's when they threatened to join indy car because  they were unhappy F1 wanted v10 engines on the grid, ferrari wanted to keep their v12.

Ahh your probably right but it doesn't matter Nissan will be at Le Mans next year and we will have a stronger Porsche too -- Ferrari or not, it's pretty damn exciting ---- I wasn't into endurance racing in the 90's but it doesn't surprise me Ferrari threatened to leave F1 to get their own way - bigger share of the pie etc etc .. its all good tho, they can stay in F1 there are plenty of others who would be interested in a LMP1 return -- Mazda?

Hmm, have Mazda the £££££ to finance a LMP1 project?
What about Ford or BMW - neither have a global Motorsport programme - would they be interested?

As for Ferrari - F1 is we're they'll stay, but the Fiat group don't really do any other series. There was a time when we had Fiat, Lancia, Alfa-Romeo all involved in Sportscars, WRC, DTM, etc now nothing. They really should be in another series, and as the WEC is in the best health - one of their brands would be welcome.

Anyway, slightly off topic - but this weekend is the Nurburgring 24 Hours; my favourite race of the year; even above Le Mans.

Go Porsche!!!!!!!!!!

Should be interesting seeing Nico Hulkenberg in one of the Porsche 919's,been a while since someone racing currently in F1 drove in Le Mans.

Also i read that in the recent WEC race at silverstone, the porsche's time that got pole would have qualified 7th in last year's F1 race at Silverstone.
