Went to see them last night, f**king brilliant. some of the new songs were a bit ropey as it was their first gig in a while but they have so many cracking songs to make up for it.

Heard some differing reports from the first gig.

Venue quite big and set was a lot of new songs.
No, jazz. You fear jazz. You fear the lack of rules, the lack of boundaries. Oh look, it's a fence. But, no, it's soft.

fantastic gig last night. Best set list they've played for a while by all accounts - and a completely different one from the night before! The sound was great and the band were on top form. Got to hear a few from the bends, a few from ok computer, Kid-A had a few songs played too and then pretty much all of in rainbows.

They hardly ever do. They dont often play anything off their first album. I think they toured it for 2 years and it was rather hard on them and it pretty much ruined the songs for them. Thats what it says on their wikipedia page anyway.

Glad they don't play creep, it's the song that all of the knobheads come out for who go "they went shit after the bends".

Anyone who says Creep is their best song, sadly knows fuck all about Radiohead and music. Not even in the top twenty IMO.

what does everyone think about this:

I heard it this week for the first time and its absolutely amazing IMO.

Spinning plates is awesome. It's on their live album 'I might be wrong' which is well worth getting. Agree about creep, it's not even close to their best song.

He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

Never listened much to Radiohead, though I loke what I've heard of them. However, Thom Yorke on Big Fat quiz of the year (the 07 one, I think) had me in stitches!

saw them for the first time at LCCC last summer and it wasn't until the gig had finished that i appreciated how good it had been! also think 'in rainbows' is a such a good album, so many intricate parts in every song! like the gig, you don't really appreciate it at first, but the more chance you give it, the more effect it has! awesome! really pi**es me off when people say they're depressing, they obviously just don't appreciate proper music and how delicate and varied it can be

I was at that one, brilliant.

Pyramid song was one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard performed live and it suited the atmosphere of the setting sun behind them, while the crowd remained silent.  That made me laugh as when they started "over powering" the band shouting out the lyrics (which I fucking hate - I paid £50 to hear the band not some fucking 13 year old screech down my ear next to me) and Thom goes "We're not the Arctic Monkeys".

It was the euros final as well during that gig and we got a few dirty looks from Mancs halfway through when we're cheering like mad to find Torres scoring the winning goal.

Seen them before "inside" but they were much better suited to performing on a grander scale.

Radiohead is absolutely my favorite band ever. Every single album they have released is a masterful work of art, and in spite of that, many of their best songs aren't even on their albums.

Looked like a great performance, good to hear them again. There's a 42 minute cut of their set on the BBC site:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/readingandleeds/2009/artists/radiohead/

They also released a new song for free a few days ago:
