12th April Outdoor Pubs
« on: March 22, 2021, 10:26:07 am »
It's been a long time coming.

Most of my regular haunts are stuffy indoor likely-covid hotspots.

Thought I would start a thread for people to post any info on bars being innovative and providing the outdoor hospitality you need to open next month.

Concert Square need not apply!

A big shout out for the Bombed out church.

I went there quite a lot last summer, tables well spaced out and good service.

I will certainly be paying them a visit from the 12th onwards.

There are a lack of pubs with decent outside spaces in town, so any places that do have them will be chaos.

Good shout, who runs that do you know?

Think it will be a bit mad at first in general so will see how it plays out. Could piss down too!

There is supposed to be some place opening in Exchange Flags I've heard.

Either way, town will be chaos for a bit, especially if the suns out.

Rigby's/Lady of Mann is the obvious one that springs to mind when it comes to a beer garden in town. At the other end, the Hope & Anchor has a beer garden as does the Cracke.

Steering well clear of town for several weeks yet - until way after the June date.

You watch - it’ll be chocker everywhere with selfish gobshites getting bladdered, making a mess, not social distancing, and generally being disagreeable c*nts.

No ta.

I'm going to stick to my local area too, got a feeling everywhere will be rammed the first week, more so if nice weather is forecasted,

Going to be my local local..

The problem is that most pubs just aren't configured to allow well what the Government is proposing.

Certainly not inner city ones.

Nice big country pubs with massive gardens will be fine.

On of the fellas from my local has booked a table for four. He had to be quick as there's only nine tables .

Most of the pubs in Formby have plenty of outdoor space. The Railway, Freshfield, Cross House, Pinewoods and Grapes to name a few.
I am alone now. I am beyond recrimination. The curtains have shut, the furniture has gone. I am transforming. I am vibrating. I am glowing. I am flying. Look at me now.

I'm lucky where i am as i have a coastline, so what me & my mates are thinking of, when the weather is like it has been over the last couple of days, go the off licence & buy some beers, go to the shore & set up some chairs & have a few beers instead of the pubs.

Only a couple of pubs have outdoor space in my area without having to walk through the pub to get there

For anyone this side of town...Crosskeys not opening whilst it's outdoor only (at least for now), the outdoor area is just too small for it to make sense.

I’m sure you will be able to walk through a pub to get to the garden, just not sit inside. Otherwise how would you get to the toilet?
