It didn't sound like that to me, it was longer and went on after Carragher had passed to Spearing and back.

They were booing the owners and Carragher.  ::)

Very pleased with the team. Suarez and Borini look like they've played together for a season. Good to see Stevie in that forward role. Much more effective offensively than when he sits back. Enjoyed it muchly. That we need to keep Agger goes without saying.

I liked the line up and the tactical approach. I had the same impression as in the last games that Rodgers style of play needs top quality players on almost every position.

If we bring in more of them we will be fine.
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

That was actually some great football to watch.

I had anticipated us playing at the sometimes sluggish pace that Barca or Swansea last season tend to play, but that was completely different.  What it reminded me of, more than anything, was how we played against Real Madrid in that 4-0 demolishing 4 seasons ago.  Pass-and-move, but at pace.  Pressing high up the pitch with great movement and players looking to capitalise when we won the ball back.

I don't want to get carried away, because it's only a Belarussian team, but if we play anything like that then you won't hear any complaints from me, even if it takes a few months for the results to come.  It's just so enjoyable to watch football played like that.

Gerrard and Suarez were brilliant, I was impressed with Shelvey and Borini as well.  In fact, the only player I would say wasn't good was Adam, and that's harsh as he only played a few minutes.  Even Downing was impressive.

Made up with that performance! Sod all the other stuff, I'm going to savour playing well and beating inferior opposition at home with a couple of goals. Love our domination of possession and how ruthlessly we win it back.

As of now, delighted.

Great first half, some brilliant link up play between Gerrard, Suarez and Borini.  The second half was always going to be anti-climatic as the  tie was already over.  A superb goal from Johnson brightened it up.  Felt sorry for Suarez as he deserved a goal.

The past couple of games have made me think that Downing has a future here and could be a valuable squad player.

Funniest part of the second half was Pleat saying there's going to be a real battle between Spearing and Lucas for that defensive midfield role.

Downing was much improved and put some good quality balls into the box from wide after he actually took the Gomel defenders on  :o - He also tracked back well and worked hard so fair play to him.

Enrique - Solid throughout and also put some decent balls into the box after a couple of well timed runs down the flank.

Sure some fucker will have something negative to say though.

Thanks man, so a solid display from our both.
Looks good, wish I could have seen the gane, sounds like we are looking flowy and composed.

Even Downing was impressive.

Really was the only negative for me tonight and again shows its a position where we need a better player.

Thought everything was very good, would have liked to see Carroll get some game time though.

Almost fell of my seat there :)
And he repeated it until Derek sort of set him straight.

I was thinking- "WTF, Pleat!?" Was also adamant Gomel should've had a penalty even though Skrtel went for the ball first and the Gomel player only managed to stick his head in AFTER Skrtel already got a toe onto it.

How did Lucas do?  Looked fine at the end but a bit knackered.

He wasn't on the ball that much, basically would just sit back win the ball when he needed to, and distribute to Shelvey, Gerrard and co. Good performance and much needed fitness.

Loved that. Could watch the first half over and over again we were that impressive! Suarez, Gerrard and Borini look quality together. Delighted Fabio was able to get his first goal too. Johnson was fantastic, what a strike! ;D

Also, Lucas played 80 mins or so and threw in some crunching challenges. So good to see that again!

Add in the fee being agreed for Joe Allen and tonight's been a pretty good night all said and done. :)

The fact that it was an inferior team is encouraging. We haven't had any major problems with the top teams the last few seasons, it's the dropped points against mediocre and bonafide shite teams that have been killing us.

Nice performance against a week side... bodes well for those home games against WBA/Wigan etc...

Apart from Downing, who only played for the first 15 minutes, some very good signs.

But a real dampener on the night if FSG are forcing Agger out with their fucking Moneyball bollocks from rounders. Fcking sign the cheques and stay out of football.
::)

So 1-0 win = FSG are the devil!?!?!?!?!?

and

3-0 win = FSG are the devil!?!?!?!?!?

can't wait to see the reaction to a loss this season :butt

Our movement when we were attacking was a pleasure to watch. As was our pressing when we lost the ball.

Good start for the boss man. Hope it's indicative of the type of performances we will see in our 19 home league games of the season.

Not going to go overboard, but even though it wasn't exactly against the level of opposition we're going to face throughout the season that performance has increased my confidence for the upcoming season, as long as we can show some consistency. Come to think of it, the fact it wasn't against top class opposition actually gives me even more confidence as its teams like them that we usually go out and play badly against - maybe we can go on to thrash a few of the mid-low table teams :)

Our attacking play was brilliant, we pressed them when they got the ball, we made plenty of chances and finished 3 of them in style.

Suarez was incredible, shame he didn't get a goal for himself.

I think we even managed to reduce the number of times we hit the woodwork!
