Markovic just running down his contract at this point? Will he get another in any sort of a decent league?

Unless he's planning on staying local and moving down a division or two, could probably get a contract at a bottom half team in the Portugal prem, maybe.

Cheers for these updates Joe. Question: Is Danny Ings left out because he is essentially sold?

Yes mate, I included him in the first couple of updates earlier in the season because I thought his loan was with an option to buy, but somebody pointed out that it was an obligated buy. I've kept Karius as I believe he has to make a certain amount of appearances before Beşiktaş' option to buy becomes an obligation. I've been meaning for a couple of weeks now to do a statistical post on how many minutes/% of games all our loanees have played so far which I'll probably do now that we're at an international break, I'll still include Ings in that.

This was the line-up for the U23 Cup game vs West Brom on Sunday 7th October;

Liverpool U23s: George, N. Williams, Gallacher (Lewis), Johnston, Juanma, Christie-Davies, Markovic (O'Rourke), Virtue, Millar, Chirivella (Coyle), Jones.

Was that Shamal George in goal for us??

That would make sense. He's been on the bench for every Tranmere league game so far but wasn't this weekend.

Hopefully not, and he ends up at some lower league Serbian club and has to pot wash on the side to make ends meet.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Well given that Anderlecht wanted to pay money for him in the last window he should have no problem getting a contract somewhere.

Don’t see him having much of a problem getting a deal in some of the top leagues probably at a bottom half side in France Italy Portugal or Belgium

Probably getting a nice €2/3m signing on bonus

I’d guess he is financially set up when he runs out his contract here

Thought I'd make use of a very boring international break.

Most Minutes Played: (minutes missed through injury, suspension, international duty, etc. not included)

Ovie Ejaria - 1272 (78.5% of minutes available)
Ryan Kent - 1263 (77.9%)
Adam Bogdan - 1200 (100%)
Herbie Kane - 1199 (83.25%)
Taiwo Awoniyi - 802 (63.65%)
Loris Karius - 630 (100%)
Danny Ings - 625 (77.15%)
Harry Wilson - 596 (73.5%)
Corey Whelan - 540 (85.7%) - highest percentage of minutes for an outfield player
Marko Grujic - 254 (70.55%)
Ben Woodburn - 234 (20.00%)
Sheyi Ojo - 211 (39.00%)
Shamal George - 180 (14.25%)
Allan - 152 (15.35%)
Connor Randall - 70 (19.44%)
Anderson Arroyo - 0 (0.00%)

-----

Games Played: (games missed through injury, suspension, international duty, etc. not included)

Ovie Ejaria - 18/18 - 100%
Adam Bogdan - 13/13 - 100%
Harry Wilson - 9/9 - 100%
Loris Karius - 7/7 - 100%
Sheyi Ojo - 6/6 - 100%
Marko Grujic - 4/4 - 100%
Ryan Kent - 17/18 - 94.4%
Danny Ings - 8/9 - 88.8%
Herbie Kane - 14/16 - 87.5%
Taiwo Awoniyi - 12/14 - 85.7%
Corey Whelan - 6/7 - 85.7%
-----
Ben Woodburn - 7/13 - 53.8% *
Connor Randall - 2/4 - 50% *
Allan - 3/11 - 27.2% *
Shamal George - 2/14 - 14.2% *
Anderson Arroyo - 0 - 0.00% *

* = It's stated by numerous sources including managers of some previous loaned clubs that we install fines in the contracts of loaned players so that if they  feature in less than a required number of games - reported to be 75% - the club that have loaned them will be charged. Currently, Sheffield Utd, Rochdale, Frankfurt, Tranmere, and Gent would all fall into that. A few articles last season put the fee Bristol City had to pay us for not playing Kent enough between £200,000 and £500,000.

He was very good in general in the second half, could've had a few more opportunities to score as well all game if the rest of the Welsh players were on his level. He's a special talent and I can't wait to see him back here next year.

Ryan Kent has just scored a classy goal against Hamilton, for Rangers. Played through, keeper came out so he chipped him from the edge of the box.

Need to see an angle of that from behind the goal, looked like it caught a deflection or the keeper's had a mare.

2 to 3 months into a season and he's already grabbing international headlines. He's too good for the championship and I would love to see him playing with a fully fluid team of players full of confidence. Derby are a great football playing team so far this season. Lawrence and mount have also been playing above that standard.
I dream of a team of Daniel Aggers!

Bold statement.

If he doesn't make it here, we're going to get a nice fee for him as this rate as he's getting a lot of attention (Same goes for Mason Mount at Derby, too)

He is a wonderful striker of the ball, no question. But it’s the intelligent first touch before his goal last night that stands out. The way he pushed the ball gently into a space he knew was about to be vacated. Clever.

Just wanted to mention Kent and another very good performance from him last night in the Europa game for Rangers. Finished 0-0 at Ibrox but he easily looks their most dangerous player and could have had another goal and assist. Ovie had a good all round game as well.

Good shout.

I have had a little concern about how we keep our HG quotas as the likes of Lallana, Milner, Sturridge and a bit later Hendo, move on or retire, given the cost of bang-average English players. But it's being well tempered by the emergence of Gomez and TAA, and the progress of Ejaria, Wilson and Solanke (well last season at least - is he still injured?). Keep it up young reds!
