2 tickets booked in the Anfield Rd Lower Blk 127 for me and my missus.

Sleeping over at a good mates place a mile from the ground on Friday Saturday night (he’s not a footy fan)

I’ve been toying with how to watch this game.

After being at the 2005 final in person I wanted to get as “near as possible” to this one. The feeling of being surrounded by thousands of fellow reds is the only option.  The thought of being in a bar with the strong possibility of rival fans being in there taking the piss was a non-starter for this.  And then I had a nightmare thought that some rivals might even get into Anfield for the screening ... but the way they’ve done it with you having to be an LFC member should make sure it’s only Liverpool fans in Anfield on the night.

And all being well we’ll be waking up in Liverpool on the Sunday with an open top bus parade to look forward to!!!

I think all the blues will be tucked up in bed by 8, pretending it’s not happening.

Insane that we've almost sold out our ground for a screening. Not sure any other club in Europe could do that. Gonna be a cracking atmosphere.

Got my tickets yesterday  :)

Can anyone who went to the Roma screening comment on the views please?

I only saw a picture earlier in this thread and the screens didn't look too big, but perhaps it just appeared that way...

We could definitely sell it out. The views of the screen just wouldn't be good enough from the upper main and upper KD stand. Hence why they've been left empty.

The screens and feed is provided and sponsored by BT sport (all the advertising hordings showed BT adverts only). Means they can show the nice reaction shots from Anfield on the TV

I was at the Roma game and the views were great as well as sound.

The only major issue (and will be even worse with a full stadium) is that they are in no way prepared to serve drinks and food properly.

Getting a pint was painfully slow

Yeah main problems is that there was obviously a massive rise in demand than usual for beer cos you can take to your seat, also they are still pouring cans into plastic cups instead of all using the fast bottom filling draught beer that they have in some parts of the stadium. Oh and the two girls serving my line were really nice but slow as fuck!

Sounds great Bar the slow Bar  ;D

Hopefully with a larger crowd they have learnt from the last screening and improve that part.

Can you bring your own drink into the ground (stupid question?) and are the screenings in 4K?

The Flute was rammed for the semi 2nd leg but you should be fine if you get there early. Baltic market is ticketed and sold out

Eeeeeeeeew!!!  That's taking things a bit far.  Can he not have a less gruesome mask like that fella with nails all over his head in that film called Hellraiser (or something)?  The oil is acceptable.

So here was my experience from the Roma game sitting in the kop

The kop was full apart from the blocks right at the back and the far edges (approx 1 block)

3 screens on the pitch facing into the kop. 1 at the middle of the goal, 1 to the right and 1 to the left

Picture quality was very very good. No idea if it was 4k but we're not talking a dodgy stream. You wont struggle seeing a screen no matter where you sit

It was BT TV and BT sound pumped through the stadium tanoy. You heard the commentary and fan noise (so you could join in). BT sponsored the event as all the electronic advertising boards were only showing BT adverts

BT had numerous camera guys in the kop walking round to capture reaction

Yes you can buy booze in there. Beer (Carlsberg , San miguel, Guiness), somersby cider and wine
Yes you can take it to your seat without fear of stewards and banning orders. Though you will get knobheads throwing their drinks when we score.
No you can't take your own in. Standard Anfield bag checks and pat downs in operation.
The food/drink outlets were staffed to the same levels as a standard match which meant they couldn't cope with the demand of everyone wanting a beer. Be prepared to queue.

Atmosphere was good (result helped)

Soccerbus will be running from Sandhills

Wasn't a big fan of watching the Roma game at Anfield. They just weren't prepared for serving that much beer. Everything was just slow.

Got a ticket for Death row Diner with my old man. Good beer on tap and food during the day

Got tickets for me and four mates for Anfield and Death Row Diner. Undecided which one to go to?

Looking for a bit of advice please folks, getting the bus from Manchester airport to Liverpool One at 1750 next Saturday and due to arrive at 1845 but there's a stop off at edge lane drive at 1825, would I be better getting off there and if so will I be able to get a bus/taxi handy enough?
Not familiar with that area at all but doesn't look too far from anfield on the map.

Depends on the route the bus/coach takes.

Assuming your going to Anfield and the route is the M62...

You should be able to pick up a cab on Edge Lane - best spots would be at the top by Rathbone park - you're quite near to old Swan too, or if its further down by Tunnel Road - there you've got traffic coming through from Toxteth towards Kensington.

Factor in you have 20 mins extra from the final stop and you could always book a cab form your mobile before you get off..

I used to work on Edge Lane, but must admit didn't take much notice of cabs as I was usually in my car.

A Great man once said...
