Greatest time of the year.

Why?

Weather is generally miserable. Shortest days. Over-consumption, overspending, tacky decorations and consumer crap everywhere (with associated waste). Annoying shite music in all the shops. Drunken idiots everywhere.

A mid-winter party is a good idea, but it should be much shorter and occur around the 21st, i.e. a real event with actual meaning - Winter Solstice

Er, I think you'll find the anniversary of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ is a real event with actual meaning thank you very much.

I've returned to living in a house-share scenario this year.  Mine happens to be the back bedroom, next to the bathroom.  My housemate is already blasting Christmas 'hits' on the stereo whilst she's in there  >:(

LOVE Christmas period :D

Starts December 1st for me tho

I do enjoy it though...I'm fortunate enough to be employed in a job that allows me the week off without leave, and it's a good opportunity to get together with family and friends for a sustained period.  For me, it begins shortly after the 10th though ;D

I had a mince pie at work which was nice and having taken the family to Oxford Street last weekend, I will not need to step foot in that hell hole for another few months. So far Christmas is going well, what a shame the tight ****s I work for decided to cancel the Christmas party this year.

They have to change the song then to the 31 days of Christmas.

To me it starts about the 23rd and ends the 28th.

Family pressures force me to start around about the 23rd, usually manage to finish around about the 27th. Still far too long.

Not only thats its over. You can see the days getting longer by a few minutes a day .. the buds start to bud .. theres also different birds singing in the morning.

Its purely a psychological boost for me.

And....if I didn't already mention  Christmas is over too .

Haha, me and my missus are going back to our families for Christmas around the 16th of December till January, so we thought we'd put it up slightly earlier so we can actually get to enjoy a bit of it together.

Saying that, she wanted to put the tree up a couple of weeks ago... I had to talk her into some sense, mad!

Put all the lights up on the outside of the house yesterday, missus had put some stuff up before her trip. I put the tree up but only threw a few lights on it. missus will do it properly when she gets home.
