It is for my little girl, my grand-daughter to be precise - She's just spent the day meeting the people from the Northern Lights Charity. She's one of only 24 kids in the UK, now booked to fly out on the 18th of December, to spend 3 days meeting the 'real' father Christmas in Lapland.

If ever there were a group of kids who needed to believe in miracles and the thought of all things good, its these 24 kids.

Happy Christmas.

I'm a softy when it comes to christmas mainly cause of the joy it brings to kids.  All the best with everything mate.

My girlfriend is a disibility support worker and she says christmas brings so much joy to everyone there.  It creates such a buzz around the place they all seem to forget about their troubles for a while and just enjoy it.

Quite apt, that's probably what most people call them when trying to work out which one is the faulty bulb.

Practised my son's lines for his upcoming Nativity Play lastnight which warmed my curmudgeonly heart a little.

As a 34 year old recent ex-pat, the ridiculousness of the early Christmas push is even more evidently bizarre. I now live in Bali, nobody gives a shit about xmas here. Also I am watching stuff on ITV Player and 4od and when it gets to the adverts, its CHristmas stuff! Mad. Makes it all the more strange when you watch said adverts whilst sitting by your pool in 33 degree heat! I am going back to Liverpool for xmas and can't wait, I love Christmas, love time with the family, and even more so after moving overseas this year. I am glad I am not getting the wall to wall shoving down the throat commercialised shite to be honest, and when i fly back home on 13th Dec, CHristmas can start then, no worries.

The holiday season is completely obnoxious. Totally takes any joy you might get out of it by it oozing  out of every orifice of society for at least 2 months of the year. I don't mind a tasteful celebration within the actual week of Christmas. It's nice to listen to a few of the songs the day of, but for it to just take over it absurd. Why is having the same 15 songs playing almost everywhere you go acceptable?

It's like Santa Claus becomes a dictator for 2 months. His face goes up everywhere and his music plays 24/7. BUY MORE STUFF is the chant. Nothing else matters, just BUY MORE STUFF.

It's a bit early for decorations and all that in my opinion, but I do love Christmas, I'm already full of Christmas cheer! I watched the polar express yesterday too when it was on  ;D

I think coming from Northern Ireland, our news is so depressing we need Christmas to come a bit early!
