Not that it matters much, but it's definitely about Salford. The original that Ewan MacColl wrote actually referenced Salford' although many who've re-recorded it sang 'Sulphered' or substituted something completely different. Even MacColl himself substituted in the word 'smoky' instead of Salford when he recorded it with his wife.
