Not many players who’ve done that. I can only think of 2 previous examples

And he has 2 runners up medals as well (1x Europa and 1 champions League). 5 European competition finals.

I never got the hate for him to be honest - fine to say he wasn't good enough as that is a more objective thing but people seemed to genuinely hate the lad and, as you say, he always came across as proper sound as as someone who loved the club.
